Yu-Gi-Oh! The Falsebound Kingdom

Review by RelientK45

"Yu-Gi-Oh! for Gamecube"

The first Yu-Gi-Oh! game for Gamecube was quite a success. What makes it so interesting is the fact that even though this is a Yu-Gi-Oh! game, it involves no cards whatsoever. Instead you have a group of ''marshalls'', Men/Women that can control monsters, working for you. Each marshall controls three monsters. That said, let's get to the review.

Gameplay - 9/10

This game is very fun to play. One of the neatest things about this game is that when you start the game, you only have a few monsters, but as you progress, you can pick up stray monsters and monsters can be given to you from people in villages that you save. There is a good selection of Duel Monsters to choose from. Also, you have a chance to use the Egyptian God Cards for the first time.

Story - 5/10

In this game, you can choose to be Kaiba, or you Can choose to be Yugi. Each player has his own unique story. While there are some surprising elements to it, it tends to seem like the same thing over and over.

Graphics - 10/10

The graphics in this game are quite amazing. Everything is incredibly 3D. You can view the battle from just about any angle. Also, when moving around, you can rotate the angle to anything from looking directly down on your character to looking level at it.

Sound Effects and Music - 8/10

The Music is awesome and very original, and the Sound Effects are right on. They both make the Falsebound Kingdom experience complete.

Play Time - 4/10

This may be the most frustrating part of the entire game. It is just so stinking long! Also, you can't save in the middle of a mission, so if you don't always have a lot of time on your hands, because you either have to pause the game and leave your Gamecube on, or you will lose what you've done.

Replayability - 10/10

This game has such a high replay value, because if you beat the game with one character, there is another Character for you to play as. Also, after you beat the game, you get to keep all of the monsters and items you acquired. In each Characters story, there are different monsters you can catch, so the ones you can't get as Yugi, you can get as Kaiba on you next time through the game.

If you are a hardcore Yu-Gi-Oh! fan, I would say buy it. If not, rent it. Even if you don't like Yu-Gi-Oh! I would suggest you give it a try, you might be surprised how different it is from other Yu-Gi-Oh! games.
