The Sims Bustin' Out
Review by urban champion9
"The Best Sims Game Ever!"
The Sims: Bustin’ Out is truly the best game that Will Wright has ever created! I say this because he has taken the concept to a new level. He has developed a game with a true reality for the characters, a place where they can live more exciting lives. This makes the game play much more fun.
I am personally familiar only with the GameCube version of this game. In all versions you are able to get out of the house and move your characters through Sim City. This ability brings a wider range of activities for your characters. The GameCube version's special feature, the interfacing with the GBA, makes the game truly grand.
The graphics are much better then the last game. The faces of all Sims have more detail. Backgrounds of houses in Bust Out mode, are more grounded in their environment. There are many more items to customize your Sim, or Sim family. While some are available at the beginning of the game, some are unlockable and must be earned. In Bustin’ Out mode you can edit your character each time you start your gameplay, change their clothing, and hairstyle. This is more like real life!
There is a new style to the completely new soundtrack. When you buy a stereo in the game, there is a new techno and metal catagory of music available. And there is some new traks in other catagorys for your Sims (and you!) to enjoy.
When you move out you can move to over 10 places in the game. You will have to unlock them by taking certain career paths. There are seven career paths in Bust Out mode(gangster, fashion victim, counter culture, mad scientist, jock, movie star, and paramilitary. There are five in freeplay mode(slacker, artist, musician, swindeler, and computer geek).
The storyline in the game is much better than the previous Sim game (The Sims for PS2 and GameCube). In the other one, the storyline was to get the “perfect life”. You were to move out of your mother’s house, get a job, get married, and work hard to get rich.
In this new game, you are still doing all that, but there is jerk called Malcolm Landgrabb who steals things from you and all the other Sims. This is because you all made him mad (for one reason or another). Your job is to become rich like him, and run him out of town. The appearances of Malcolm are enough to get you mad – he steals all the locked items you have worked so hard to get!
The controls are good; I have no problem with them. They are just like the controls in the earlier game, and easy to learn and use.
In every way this is the perfect Sims game to get and it has really high replay value.
