Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Review by Dark Link18
"One of my favorite games of 2003."
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is an amazing game. It is on Game Boy Advance, GameCube, Xbox, PC, and PlayStation 2. All gamers can enjoy this engrossing game.
Story: 10/10
The story in this game is very interesting. The Prince of Persia, his father, and his father’s army are out invading an enemy kingdom. They get many prisoners. Over there the Prince finds the Dagger of Time and the Sands of Time. The treacherous Vizier of the enemy kingdom convinces the Prince to unleash the Sands of Time. He unleashes it on his father’s kingdom. Everybody turns to sand. He must undo his fatal mistake. All he has to aid him is the Dagger of Time and the princess (Farah) of the enemy kingdom who was made into a slave. She has every right to hate him and he has no reason to trust her. His fight is not for glory… but for survival.
Sound/Music: 10/10
The sound/music in this game is awesome. I really like the soundtrack. It has Arabian music, but they added rock to it and vocalists so it sounds really good. The music fits the mood of the game. This game has a lot of realistic sounds. The sword clinks when you hit other enemies’ weapons, when you are running you can hear the Prince’s footsteps, and when something falls you hear a loud sound. The voices of the characters are done nicely and you can hear them clearly. Overall the sound/music is great.
Graphics: 10/10
The graphics in this game are excellent. The landscapes look amazing and the enemies look cool. The animation is smooth and the cut scenes are stunning. Whenever you save, the Prince has a vision of the future. You see it in black and white, but it still looks great. The graphics in this game are a treat for your eye.
Control: 10/10
This game has some of the best controls that I’ve seen in years. The controls in this game are easy to learn and use. You can master the controls in a few minutes. There are no flaws in controls.
Gameplay: 10/10
This is one of the most fun games that I’ve ever played. The combat and the puzzles are really fun. In combat can vault an enemy (most enemies), you can slash an enemy with your sword, you can stab enemies with the Dagger of Time (which freezes them), you can suck them up into your dagger once they’re on the ground, and you can jump off walls and attack them. With the dagger of time you can rewind time (perfect for when you die), slow down time and do Matrix style moves, speed up time, and freeze enemies with your dagger. The prince is really athletic so he can do a lot of cool moves. He can run up and across walls, he can jump far, he can wall jump, he can tight walk, and he can swing on bars and ropes. You recover your health by drinking water from fountains of water. The only problem with this game is that it is short. You can beat it in 6-10 hours. I beat it in 9 hours and 16 minutes my first time through. I used a FAQ my first time through. It makes up for that in replayability. The gameplay in this game is awesome.
Replayability: 10/10
This game has a lot of replayability. You can try to collect all the sand clouds and try to get to all of the Water of Life or you can just replay it. You can unlock the first Prince of Persia and you can also unlock the first level in 3-D in the first Prince of Persia.
Buy or Rent: Buy
It may be short, but it has a lot of replayability. This is one of the best games of all time and it’s on all the consoles. You won’t regret buying this game.
This is one of my all time favorite games. It is one of the best games of 2003. Everybody can enjoy this great game.
