James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing
Review by maxpowr3
"EA brings us another great Bond game"
EAs third 007 game takes Bond into a whole new perspective, third person! EoN gives a new twist to the Bond games while keeping the old charm. This game was definitely made for 1 or 2 people (although up to 4 can play)
Gameplay 9/10: Like any EA Bond game, there is a wide variety of levels; from shooting (both moving and rail) to driving a car/SUV, a motorcycle or even a helicopter. Each level gets harder than the next adding a challenge. The controls at first are hard to get used to especially in the first level when you are thrown directly into the action. However, after a few levels, the controls become much easier. The hand-to-hand is done very well in this game. The best part about that is that you can pick up weapons to attack your enemies with. The one downside to the gameplay is that many of the levels take less than 5 minutes to complete. However, there are over 30 unique levels to unlock. The Platinum Medal system is different from previous Bonds. Instead of collecting tokens, you have to beat the certain level with another goal, it may be health or in a certain time.
Story 7/10: There is nothing new to the story in this 007 game. A man bent on world domination through a crazy scheme and Bond must save the world. However, what really shocked me was when the villain had known Max Zorin, from “A View to a Kill”.
Graphics/Sound 9/10: The best Bond game (graphically) yet. The intro was amazing and Mya’s soundtrack is very catchy. Pierce Brosnan steps out of the movies and into the video game along with several other actors and actresses including the voices of Jaws, M, and Q from the Bond movies. Great voice acting done by all characters. The only problem was that the faces on the characters.
Multiplayer 7/10: There are four major modes to multiplayer; co-op, race, score, and arena. The co-op is fantastic! I have never seen a co-op done this good in any game. However, the levels are difficult and it can be frustrating to work with a partner. The time and the score modes add more fun to the game. The major downfall to the multiplayer is the arena. The creators tried to make it hand-to-hand combat but added weapons to make the hand combat useless. More problems include; not many character to select from, choices of arenas and bots, which is a major downside.
Replayability 9/10: With over 30 single player levels, it will keep you busy for hours trying to get all of the Platinum medals. Cheat codes can only be collected by beating certain levels on Platinum. The co-op is a great feature that adds even more fun and difficulty to the game.
Buy, Rent, Don’t bother: Buy it. It is most likely you will not beat the game 100% in one rental. However, I would turn back to NightFire for multiplayer.
