"Wierd, but good..."

Ok, now we have here a Bomberman game. Ever since Bomberman Hero on N64, Hudson's got this whole 3-D thing going on. It started kinda bad, but as it became cleaner and cleaner, it had some improvements (It's cell shaded). They've added some new things but if you've played Generation you'll find this easy.

Graphics:9
If a game has cell shade, I always love the graphics. They have anime cut-scenes almost exactly like the ones on that Kirby show on FOX. It is definitely cartoony so it's not for people who like serious graphic games like Resident Evil...

Storyline:6
Not much of a storyline going here folks. Theirs a big planet/asteroid heading for Planet Bomber. You gotta stop the 4 engines to save the day. It's up to Bomberman and Max to stop the evil group known only as the HIGE HIGE Bandits yet again.

Controls:8
Easy and quick to learn. In this game you can switch between Bomberman and Max with Y, use bombs with A, activate charabomb powers/use hyper bomb with B (Bomberman/Max), C-Stick to change TYPE of bomb, and use the control stick to move.

Sound/Music:8
It sounds realistic... in a cartoony way. The bombs sound like bombs, walking sounds like walking, ect. Sometimes it gets hard to notice the music though. All the explosions and death cries muffle out the soundtrack. The soundtrack isn't that great though, you won't miss it.

Gameplay:9
This games has two characters to be, Bomberman and Max. I am almost NEVER Max because of the fact that he can,t use Charabombs. What are Charabombs? These can almost be considered a Bomberman version of Pokemon. I'm not a Pokemon fan, at all but you NEED most of these to continue through the game. Different Charabombs give Bomberman new abilities. For example, the first one you receive is named Sharkun and he allows you walk on water. But Charabombs can grow stronger as you feed them fruit. Bananas give them a small increase, strawberries a partial, and melons a large. Once they fill their experience bars they'll evolve. When they evolve they gain or increase abilities. The highest level is 3 so it won't take too long to get them full but with 12 Charabombs in total with 3 stages each, that's 36 different little dudes. There are a total of 26 levels in the game each taking around 10 minutes the first time through (one took me 30...) so thats about 7+ hours of direct storyline. But with all the Charabombs, cards and other goodies to collect, that brings it to around 14 hours, about as much as an average Gameboy advance game...

Boss (Thought Out):7
The Elemental Bombers take the place of the Crush Bombers and Kill Bombers in other Bomberman games. They are a combination of Bomberman and Charabombs. They are not too difficult and pose as a little threat as a boss. They did do a good job with the whole layout thing, so I think Hudson did ok here. But now the REAL bosses (Elemental Bombers are Mini-Bosses).... Did Hudson just slap these together or what? They have nothing to do with Bomberman whatsoever and are mythical creatures, except for that dumb, Tiger riding a stone head... so dumb....

Replayability:10
With hidden characters, charabombs, and an OUTSTANDING Multiplayer, this game has a great replay value. You'll enjoy some of the evolutions of the charabombs and have a blast with friends using multiplayer.

Rent It/Buy It/Forget It: Although I gave it a good rating, I'm gonna recomend renting it first, it is for specific tastes so try it before you but it.
