Namco Museum
Review by AnimalXing7
"The Best of Classic Gaming!"
Namco Museum, released some time in the year 2002, is simply stunning. This game includes 12 of Namco's arcade hits such as Pac Man, Galaga, Dig-Dug,
Pole Position 1 and 2, Galaxian, and Ms. Pacman. Plus, they added remakes of Pac Man, Galaga, and Dig Dug. As if that wasn't enough, they put in 2 unlockable games. Whenever I play these games I feel just like I am in the arcade playing them thanks to the perfect emulations of the arcade versions of the game.
Graphics:10/10
These games have well-done, colorful graphics that were pretty much a standard for the time they were released. Who couldn't love the fun looking and simple graphics in these games? Sure, they don't live up to the graphic quality of Halo or Splinter Cell, but they still look great.
The graphics deserve a 10/10 and no less.
Music/Sound:8/10
The music and sound in the regular versions of the games were transferred to the Gamecube with no distortions. I am not crazy about the music in the remade versions because they can get annoying and repetitive. Many a time I would have to turn down the volume on my TV just to be able to concentrate on the remake of Pac Man. But the other games on the disk have great sound and get an 8/10.
Gameplay:10/10
This is where the game really shines. Back in the 80's when these games were released, it wasn't about the graphics or even the music but the gameplay was what was important. These games are all easy to get the hang of, but can have you hooked for hours. I could play them forever and not get sick of them.
The gameplay definitely deserves a 10/10.
Replay Value:10/10
Since you can never beat these games and they are madly addictive, you will probably be playing this for a long time. It has been over a year since I bought this game and I still whip it out once and a while for a
quick game of Pac Man. What is great about these classics unlike games made nowadays is that you could just play for 5 minutes really quick or you could play for hours since there is no progression other than getting a higher score!
No game, in my opinion, has higher replay value so this deserves a 10/10.
Overall Score:10/10
Buy or Rent:Buy
Definitely buy this game. It is really very cheap (around 20 dollars) and with the high replay value and amount of fun you will have, this is definitely a great buy.
