"Mindless and Fun!"

This game is a classic beat em up. The gameplay variety is very low, but this game is very fun. If you want something fun, multiplayer, and a great way to take out violence, this is for you.

Graphics:8/10
The graphics are cel-shaded, and very nice. They are surprising detailed and colored, just like the comic book. The lighting and shadow animations are good, too. I'm not a fan of cel-shading, but this is a good style for the type of game.

Story:3/10
There's not much to speak of. You are Dr. Banner, the mild-mannered doctor that when angered turns into the Hulk. In the beginning of the game, you try to get the gamma rays out of you. Instead, this professor turns into a nemesis of yours. As you go through the game you face several different enemies that are right out of the comic book. The story is okay, but it's not what will get you to turn on the game each time.

Gameplay:9/10
There are two kinds of missions. The first time, you are the Hulk the whole mission. It is very entertaining, slamming through walls, throwing a guard off the roof, shooting down some guy, and chucking a guy at another. It's mindless, violent and extremely fun. I couldn't get enough of throwing a guy threw a console and watching it explode. The other kinds of missions are different. You are Dr. Banner, and you need to use stealth. As you take damage, you get more angry causing you to turn into the Hulk. You lose if you turn into the Hulk. You also are forced to do boxpushing and jumping puzzles, but these missions are not the favorite of mine. The are just a break from the other missions.

Sound:6/10
There is not much sound, just the Hulk roaring, guards saying ''GET HIM'' and ''NOT BAD, FOR A GEEK'' and Dr. Banner saying things like ''I'm bleeding...''.. ''Don't make me hurt you'' Pretty average at best. The gunfire and explosion sounds sound actually pretty funny, as for the scream of a guard falling to his doom.

Multiplayer:5/10
Fight each other, destroy things togheter, or destroy things against each other. It's fun, but very shallow.
You can play up to four players, but with all the multiplayer games available for the Gamecube, I'd stick to the single player mode.
Rent or Buy:Rent it first. It's too shallow and easy to buy, but if you can get it for less than 25 go for it. In my opinion, this is the best comic book to video game translation yet. It's great if you just want to kick back with some friends, unwind, and beat the stuffing out of some inncoent civilians.
