The Scorpion King: Rise of the Akkadian
Review by AJM Ruler
"The R0CK is with you...sort of"
This is a review for The Scorpion King: Rise of the Akkadian got the Gamecube. I only had about $8 and was looking for a decent game to play when I saw The Scorpion King: Rise of the Akkadian, I said to myself, "What the Hell, I'll give it a shot." This game is AWESOME, I loved everything about it.
Graphics: (9) The R0CK looks awesome, as though he was in real life. His two brothers look cool two. The R0CK's likeness is portrayed well in the game, with few slowdowns. Enemies in the game even look better, from thugs to the weirdest enemies you will face are here. Environments range from awesome to darn right ugly.
Sound: (7) Displaying his voice is none other but the R0CK himself. He gave his likeness and surprisingly his voice too. Though at times I think R0CK had a different voice actor for him, don't know why but it sounded so different at times. In-game music is standard for this fighting game. Monsters have decent grunts and groans.
Game Play: (10) Addicting game play this game has. The R0CK either uses his brute strength or a LOT of different weapons. Ranging from spears to swords, the R0CK is VERY well equipped throughout the whole game. I didn't like however is you only have to choose from several different weapons, but the thing is all those weapons have upgrades, and that is about it. So many enemies are on the screen, it is so fun to bash them up.
Storyline (If any): (8) A pre-quel to the movie, you are not the Scorpion King at the beginning of the game, you have to become and master the art an assassin. Throughout the game you will meet interesting people and enemies, and the ending is quite cool.
Summary: (8.5) If you like action games with a LOT of beat em up style of fighting and don't have a lot of cash with you, then this game is what you want. R0CK lovers with also like this game, though I am not, fighting in this game was good enough anyways.
