Resident Evil Code: Veronica X

"It's time to make sure that the dead STAY dead!"

Story:Umbrella has dominated Raccoon City and destroyed many lives. However, this time, it's not in America, it has escaped and infected Europe. Just how far will Umbrella go until they realize it's too late? Thousands lie dead, some even eaten. At times, you may hear the staggering footsteps of the ones who once lived. The dark, eerie scenery that this Diobolicle corporation left behind echoes throughout the desolate buildings, and deserted homes. Only this time, Claire and her brother Chris are determined to end this macabre and lifeless plaugue that haunts those who are still fortunately alive. Claire, being of dexterity and self assureness, sets out with no fear as she plunders into the darkness yet again to stop Umbrella before it's to late. Joined by her brother, they both work together to put an end to this deadly force in which destroyed their once peaceful lives. Although, they may seem well equipped, these siblings will encounter many dangerous obstacles, and will stand before deadly creatures of the both dead and living. Only their determination will get them through this evil nightmare that began so long ago.

Graphics: The highly enhanced step up from playstation had players wishing they had not opened one certain door to find the undead stalking the living in need of food. this food is you, they eagerly lash out to devour your body if you do not somehow escape and triumph. The Blood and different types of zombies vary from time to time. The high resolution of the maggot filled corpses is a delight for those who enjoy a good gorefest. Blood splurts and guts pour out as the detailed game unwraps some of Umbrella's finest Bio Organic Weapons with crisp details and sharp pixels. This is definately a step up from Playstation. Although Gamecubes remake and new engine holds the "realism" in which we desired for so long, this game deserves an 8. 8/10

Button Configuration: Like the survival horror titles of before, this game is basically the same. The buttons involve the typical "R" button hold while you rapidly open a clip on the nearest rotting corspe longing for you flesh. Running is the typical "B" button while you press up on either the D-pad, or the Analog stick that Nintendo gives us for the more comfortable approach while we try to survive the deadly game in which this is. Without saying much more, the rating of the configuration recieves an 8 as well for the tiring posistion our fingers are place din and soreness of our thumbs while dodging a ravenous dog wishing to tear out your throat. 8/10

Replay Value: This exclusive title has a very seducing replay. Although this game tends to be long and almost impossible it keeps gamers wanting continue onwards through the deadly areas of this game. This title doesn't neccessarily have great unlockable features in the end, but it's a game which needs a fairly decent skill, and much paitence if one would wish to pursue the conquering of Umbrella Inc. This game should easily get a 9 for it's repetitive gameplay that lures us back and back again to make sure the dead stay dead. 9/10

Overall Rating: Resident Evil: Code Veronica -X- is by far the most challenging title Capcom has released in the never ending dream of Umbrella's twisted plots. Another feature that stand out from the rest is the noise of a heart beating at times when you open a door. This will actually make ones thoughts race by as they try and imagine what form of death may lurk on the other side of that pale, dirty wall. Though it still ends in a "Self-Destruction" mode, this ends another deadly plan this agency wishes to accomplish. While in control of Chris, Claire, and Steve, the attempts to beat this scenario will not be easy. The overall rating of this game recieves a 9 for keeping us at nerves ends until we finally destroy Veronica, and the plaugue that runs rampant throughout the world. 9/10
