"The makers of Golden Sun and Mario team up to play the best game of tennis ever"

This is a review for Mario Power Tennis for the Nintendo Gamecube. This is the sequel to Mario Tennis for the Nintendo 64. This game was created as a compilation between Camelot and Nintendo.

Game play: Mario Power Tennis has some of the most fun action in any game I have played in a while. Sure, one might think, “Oh boy, tennis, like that will not get old.” Well, to those people, you are terribly wrong. For some reason this game never gets old. The controls are incredibly basic, and yet the game remains challenging. There are new super moves that can often change the tide during a match. There is also an entire ensemble of amazingly fun mini games. These games are great on single player, but are terrible to play on multi player. The tournament mode provide a solid couple hours worth of good marathon play you can really get into, with plenty of game saves if you do not have much time on your hands. The game play grabs a shockingly high 9/10.

Story: One would not expect a tennis game to have story, and in truth this game does not have one. What it does have is a beautiful and hilarious FMV at the beginning. Based on that I give it another 9/10.

Graphics: In a word, amazing. The characters look great, the areas look great, and the special attacks will blow you away, sometimes literally. The movement and mechanics are more flawless than I ever thought possible. The only problem is, they could have been a little more imaginative with the costume design. It deserves nothing but a 9/10.

Sound: At the moment I am puzzled, as I can't remember what the music sounds like, because most of what you hear is character voices. There is a lot of voice in this game for better and for worse, and the sound effects are great, but since I cannot remember the music, all there is' a 7/10.

Play Time: You could truly play this game forever, but beating the tournaments and all the mini games could take around ten hours or so. The multiplayer is so great you may never stop playing. The playtime gets a nice 9/10.

Replay Value: As I said you can play forever. Taking on new challenges and beating everything, then testing your skills against your friends. This gets a 10/10.

Overall: If you were asking rent or buy, I'd say do whatever you want. You could rent it and play a little or buy it and play forever. Mario Power Tennis get a 8.75/10.
