WarioWare Inc.: Mega Party Game$

Review by Mario maniac

"Wario makes a(nother) fool-proof plan for money - and it is a very lazy effort!"

--------------------------------------------------
Introduction
--------------------------------------------------
Wario Ware Inc.: Mega Party Game$ was released in 2004. While it is a fair game multi-player wise, it is basically just a clone of Wario Ware Inc.: Mega MicroGame$ (the European and Australian versions are called Minigame Mania), minus the secret mini-games in Mega MicroGame$. But there are a few new mini-games – look under Gameplay.
--------------------------------------------------
Story – 5/10
--------------------------------------------------
This game's storyline is a simple one: Wario one day decides to get his friends that made the last Wario Ware Inc. game, and they all (re)make the same mini-games, which all last approximately five seconds long, others slightly longer so you get time to figure out what to do. It may be a little too simple. The game has got nothing really to grasp on to, sadly.

--------------------------------------------------
Graphics – 3/10
--------------------------------------------------
Trust me; I'm being very generous here. As they have remade the GBA mini-games, the graphics have not changed even slightly. The only good graphics in this game is the elevators, Multi-player Mode (when you are not playing a mini-game), and the menu. Oh, and the character bios and endings. But then there's another slight problem: the characters barely move! They have two or three animations per pose, which Nintendo could have easily improved.

--------------------------------------------------
Gameplay – 7/10
--------------------------------------------------
I've got to let you know right now – even though this game is basically a disappointing copy, the mini-games are still very fun to play. Especially Multi-player Mode. Let's take Kat and Ana's game for example. What you do in this game is two-to-four people choose between the ten characters and play as them. You are inside a do-jo, standing on a turtle! Animal cruelty! You then all play a mini-game (which are the only new ones in the entire game, but they aren't very hard), and whoever wins the mini-game plays an average mini-game. If they succeed, everyone except for that person/thing games a turtle. Then everyone flips over, and the people with over two turtles must balance to stay in the game. Whoever falls off turns into a turtle.

--------------------------------------------------
Sound – 4/10
--------------------------------------------------
Sadly, the characters in this game have voices that sound like a robot that have their voices. The best sounds are the small “Wario Ware Only” music clips. These are in Japanese, and they both show someone writing on paper in Japanese. The two of them star a tiny white dot and Kat and Ana. The background for one is just grass, and the other is like a forest/park with people walking through it. Both are okay songs, but I wish someone translated it…

--------------------------------------------------
Replay Value - 6/10
--------------------------------------------------
This is no fun once you have completed everything and play it Single Player all the time. Play Single Player if you want a cure for your insomnia!

--------------------------------------------------
Overall Score – 6/10
--------------------------------------------------
While this game is very fun and frantic when you play it with mates (especially Jump Forever with 16 people using one controller), Wario Ware Inc.: Mega Party Game$ is not for everyone, even hardcore Mario/Wario fans (I am one of them!). Let's hope that the sequels have different mini-games and add new characters. The sound could definitely use work, as well as the graphics and story. Even if it was that Wario had to make a game before aliens ate the last potato on earth! Well, maybe not that.

--------------------------------------------------
Rent or Buy?
--------------------------------------------------
Rent. If you like it when you rent it, then why not buy it? It's always worth trying things out before getting them. Have fun playing it!
