Mario Party 6

"Yet another good party game by Nintendo"

This is the 6th game made in the Mario Party series and the third for GCN. Here is my review on Mario Party 6:

Story 7/10
Like all the other Mario party games this one hardly as a story. Brighton the Sun and Twila the Moon starting arguing to see who is more important. They throw a party for Mario and his friends to see who is better. I give the story a 7/10.

Graphics 9/10
The graphics for this game are beautiful and flawless. The boards look great and so does the mini-games. The little cut scene showing the board changing from day to night is done well also. The only downside is the character models but a game is not all about graphics though. I give the graphics a 9/10.

Sound 10/10
The sound in this game is great! The character voices are new and sound fine and the board music is good also. The mini-games music on the other hand is fantastic and suits each type of mini-game. I give the sound a 10/10.

Game Play 10/10
I will split the game play up:

First off let me describe the Day/Night system. Every 3 turns on a board it either changes from day to night or from night to day. The time of day it is effects the board like on some board a star might cost more in the day ad might cost less in the night. Also the happening events vary from each time of day. Another thing the Day/Night system effects os the mini-games. For example one mini-game during the day you are trying to get to the top of a cloud by jumping on Paratroopa's but at night you have to jump down.

Mario Party 6 has a new Orb system almost like the capsule system from Mario Party 5 but much better. This time around you can buy orbs from a orb shop that carries 3 random orbs. There is also a space that gives you a random orb for free. Each orb varies like some orbs you can use on yourself while others are held or some make traps on the board also.

Solo Mode is the best. You go around 3 small boards and collect mini-games by winning duels and other mini-games. If you mess up you must start that level over again. There is also a Star Bank that you can buy unlockables from the stars you win in Party/Solo mode.

The Mic Mode is pretty fun but you will probably play Party mode and Solo mode more.
