Review by TheSaladCaper

""The Incredibles" is anything but incredible."

The Incredibles movie was absolutely great. Great animation, funny, everything, however, that's not what I'm reviewing. THQ, the licence game giant, made a game out of The Incredibles. It sucked to an extreme amount. Seriously.

Ill start out by saying that in truth, I never got past the tutorial mode. Why, you might ask? I'll explain. You start off preventing a bank robbery (did I mention that the bank and robbery are taking place on the top floor of a building?), being told the controls as you go through. Then, once you have successfully stopped the robbery, you are left without anything to do, and you are not told what to do. I sat for a while, waiting for some instruction, but this “Frozone” character keeps yelling at me to “Come on! Get a move on!” Sorry Frozone, I have no idea what you want me to do! You have left me stranded, on the top of a building, without any instruction, and I have no idea what to do. Im terribly sorry if you expected me to be psychic.

However, I will review honestly what I played. The controls are slow and extremely unresponsive. To punch, you hit the x button, simple enough. Three seconds later, Mr. Incredible might punch, and when he does, you have to wait through the entire punch animation to make another move or even walk. The same goes for pretty much every other move. You can't execute anything while walking, and all the animations are slow and boorish. The one positive thing I can say about this game is that the character graphics and animation are quite decent. The backgrounds, however, are a completely different story. The few backgrounds that pierced my eye lacked a lot of color, and looked like the 3d you'd see in Wolfenstein 3d. The engine looks like a complete copy of the Spiderman engine, just with different characters, plot, and moves. I'm serious, if you played these games back to back you probably would hardly recognize the difference. This game is that bad. If you want to truly play a decent superhero game, well, you're out of luck, I have yet to find one. If you want to play a decent game period, though, stay the heck away from this one.

The Incredibles game is probably the biggest waste of 49.99 on this planet, which is surprising considering THQ has done some pretty decent stuff. I give the Incredibles a generous 2/10.
