"Splinter Cell.....for the LADIES?"

This is a review for Rogue Ops for the Gamecube. I have briefly played Splinter Cell for my Gamecube, it seemed alright but downright confusing. This game seems to be either for girls who want to be a stealthy spy or for guys who are in love with animated chicks. When I happened to find this title in the used bin at my local gaming store, I said, what the heck, I will try it. This game is a splinter cell clone that just doesn't live up to what it says on the back of the box that it came with.

Graphics: (8) I was impressed that the visuals were really good for this game. Nikki Connor is NICELY detailed with her black suit. And to appeal to the male gamers, she has a tight short shirt that showcases her a small part of her belly. As for the enemies of the game, standard looking grunts that are detailed but not as detailed at Nikki. The environments showcase a lot of detail and nice shadow effects are in the game.

Sound: (4) The voice-acting in this game is just terrible. Nikki is especially horrible. It makes my ears bleed. As for the in-game music, it is suited for the game. Probably could have been better but this is Kemco we are talking about. The best part of sound is probably the weaponry. The weapons of the game sound as they really should be.

Game Play: (4) Game play is what makes or breaks a game, for this instance it breaks the game. Like Splinter Cell before Rogue Ops, this game heavily focuses on stealth and stealth kills. With various weapons Nikki that can holster, it adds to SOME variety but not enough to save this game. As for the actual action of the game, there are two parts. Using stealth then stealth kills which involve bone-breaking action, requires you to do a number of stupid things. As for the other way of action is brute force, forced to come out of the shadows and take the enemies down. The abilities she has include climbing a rope (YIPPEEE!), jumping at necessary points, crouching (Which what you will be doing most of the game), and to use diving somersaults.

Storyline (If any): (4) Even though the story is pure crap, I will let the box art fool you into thinking this has a cool storyline:
When the world's most brutal terrorist organization, Omega 19, killed Nikki Connors' husband and daughter, they didn't count on payback. Now, the ex-Green Beret has joined Phoenix, a covert agency dedicated to counter-terrorism. With unsurpassed skills, weapons and stamina, and deadly force to take her revenge.
Too bad you will be playing a mom instead of the sexy female you thought you were playing as. And what original names for the organizations of the good and bad sides......

Summary: (5) This is a bargain title, it isn't for anybody. But if you loved splinter cell to DEATH, this title might satisfy your tastes for a little bit. As for the skeptical, this is STRICTLY rental. For a bargain price of $7, this title will disappoint most, though not all.

Pros:
+Very detailed graphics

Cons:
-Poor voice-acting
-Horrible combat
-Terrible AI
-Lacking story
