"This is so unfortunate."

The all-time favourite book series, Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, have finally made its debut at your nearest cinema! Together with the movie, Adrenium games also made a game based on the actual movie.

The game revolves around 3 really unfortunate orphans, who lost their parents due to a terrible fire. A villain, Count Olaf, wants to inherit their family fortune. That is when the orphans have to play "hide-and-seek" with Count Olaf to get away!

Gameplay

Score: 7/10

Story:
The story is interesting, yet really unfortunate. 3 orphans, Klaus, Violet and Sunny, have to escape from Count Olaf. They will go to different places, meeting different people. The whole story is complicated, but if you've read the book, you can actually skip this part.

Goal:
The goal is straight-forward and simple; escape from Count Olaf. However, you will have to invent stuff to shake him off, before he gets to you.
You will also need to find the necessities to build you invention, remember, time is running out!

Method:
The game is partly an Action and Movie-based game. You will need to go through many difficult and twisting stages, in order to complete your mission. You will get much of a fun time, not succeeding, but falling from planks, boats and rocks...

Sound
~~~~~
Score: 8/10
The music is partly extracted from the original movie. Some of it may be repetitive. However, the music is still rather clear and sharp. The lack of originality for the sound of this game gives a cut to its score. Still, the dialogs are clear and smooth.
Graphics
~~~~~~
Score: 7/10

The graphics is 3-D and very clear. The different places are drawn out very vividly and are really sharp. The characters are also drawn out very closely to the original characters in the game, giving a realistic and fresh look.

The graphics, however, has a flaw, due to several glitches and pixelated pictures.

Replay Value
~~~~~~~~~
Score: 3/10
The replay value for this game is, obviously, low. After you have defeating Count Olaf one last time and the credits roll, you simply have nothing much to do but to collect all of the puzzle pieces, which is a frustrating and difficult thing to do. The puzzle pieces unlock special stuff either from the movie, or the game itself.
Sorry to say, there isn't much about this game that stands out from the others.
RENT
Unless you are a great fan of the games, I advice you to rent the game and try it our for yourself, before buying it. You will waste US$39, if you actually find it extremely boring.
