NBA Street V3
Review by soulpossumm
"Not as good as volume 2, but still a great game!"
Intro:
First, I want to say that I loved Volume 2. It was probably my favorite sports game of all time. I had been waiting for this game for like, two years. I bought it the second day it was out, and I wasn't disappointed. This game was great and I'm about to explain why.
Graphics: 10/10
The graphics in this game were OUTSTANDING!!!! I loved the realalistic look better than the cell shading. All of the real NBA stars look exactly like they do in real life, and the courts are extremely detailed. This was one of the best parts of the game.
Music/Sound: 9/10
In my opinion, the rap music goes good with the street basketball. The announcer is hardly heard at all through the music and excellent sounds in the actual basketball game. Even though I loved the announcer. Except he doesn't talk about food as much this time. There are not that many songs to choose from, but enough to get you through a sitting's worth. The sounds are top notch and are great when you actually listen to them.
Controls: 5/10
This was the game's downfall to me. The controls were practically totally rearranged . I hated the c stick for stealing and blocking. The weird thing is that whenever you went to steal, it felt like you were trying to block more often. When you play this game, use the buttons insted of the c stick. All of the rest is the same, but I still wish they used the c stick for something different.
Price: N/A
$50 This game just came out, so if you don't buy it used, then you'll end up paying this price.
Gameplay/Story: 10/10
This game has great gameplay, and if you can get past the c stick problems, it runs pretty smoothly. The responses are lightning fast, so you won't have any slowdowns for loading or anything. Actually, loading in this game is faster than I've seen in any game before! I'ts pretty incredible. One of the best parts of the game is all the customizing. This is the first game where you get to make your own court. You can put posters and logos around the court. You can change the setting of you place(there's about 8 choises). You can even customize the NET to what you want. That's detail right there. The only kind of story that this mode called "street challenge". This allows your made character to earn reputation points. These points allow you to play with better NBA stars and even get on a real team.
Replay: 8/10
Because of all of the customization, this game has a high replay value. But the story mode might get repetitive, so you might want to try the other modes.
Rent or buy?
I would definitely say buy, because this game gave everything it said it would. If you have not played a Basketball video game before, then you should rent to see if you like this style of gameplay.
