Alien Hominid
Review by da_nut
"HIT the FBI agent, get a prize!"
Alien Hominid is a great game about an alien who, while passing over Earth, was shot down by the FBI. If only they knew what they were dealing with...
Gameplay: 9/10
Alien Hominid is one of the best shooters of all time. The chaos and the easy flowing gameplay make this a smooth adventure to play. The only reason I didn't give this a 10/10 was it's difficulty. It's a one-shot kill game so you really have to be on your toes and have super quick reflexes to accel in this game. In some places it seems you will never beat the game and there can be cheap and humiliating losses. Only determined and skilled gamers will be able to beat this adventure. One plus is you don't have to do this all alone. The option of a second player to join in anytime helps greatly. The PDA games are a blast, and all of this adds up to a high score.
Sound: 10/10
The music is great, with original music for each level. The screaming and laser fire added to this make it a great listening experience as well as a great gaming experience.
Graphics: 10/10
I have to applaud the Behemoth on the way they illustrated Alien Hominid. It's all hand-drawn, and has the most sunday- morning catoons look to it than any other game I've seen in a while. Everything is drawn incredibly well and there is a great amount of detail in everything. The background signs all have humor in them, like the "Steakery Cakery" store. I'm still trying to picture what a steak cake would look like.
Multiplayer: 10/10
Let me just say, you're gonna have a hard time beating this game without another hominid supplying firepower. The PDA game is nothing without 2-4 players, really.
Overall: 10/10
This is my favorite game ever. The graphics are awesome, the sounds superb, and the gameplay like never before. With the low price of $30, this is definately a buy. Here's hoping for a sequel!
