TimeSplitters: Future Perfect
Review by P L A S M A
"The Perfect Blend of FPS Action and Comedy"
Controls: 10/10
No complaining here. All the controls can be fully customized to fit your own playing style.
Graphics: 10/10
The graphics in Time Splitters: Future Perfect are still the same cartoony ones that we've all come to love. The graphics are top-notch and let the game run extremely smoothly through any situation.
Story: 8/10
Although it doesn't boast the best plot, this is by far the only Time Splitters game with something to claim as a story. You play as Sgt. Cortez, a futuristic Space Marine that has been sent through time to stop the Time Splitters from ever being created. Throughout the story mode, you will be sent to many different locations and time periods across the world. You will have to team up with yourself as well as other people from the time period.
Game-Play: 10/10
The game-play in Time Splitters: Future Perfect brings back memories of the good old days of Golden Eye and Perfect Dark. It is a fast-paced shooter that is easily the best console FPS to date. The game is easy to learn and hard to put away. You won't want to put this game down because of all of the unique level designs and weapons that go with them.
Re-Play Value: 10/10
The single-player in Future Perfect is by far the best in the series. It has a good story, and hilarious cut-scenes that keep you hooked to the game. As well as having a story, the multi-player in Future Perfect is where it's all at. No other FPS can keep pace with this game. It is a great game to bring to a friend's house because of all the different game modes you can play. It also has unique levels and weapons from all across the world and from all different time periods. If you get bored with the levels already put in the game, you can always create your own with the new and improved Map Maker.
Overall, the game improves upon the series in every way. You don't move as fast as in TS2, but it is still a fast and action-oriented game. Free Radical Design did an amazing job at combining both intense action with humorous characters. The Map Maker is difficult to use at first, but once you master it you can do amazing things. This is one of those games that you won't want to put down. It is one of those games that you will want to play through several times, and when you beat it, you will want more. This game is definitely worth buying.
