"Resident Evil Three--They cannot stop your last escape"

Introduction:

Resident Evil 3 is the final installment of the series to take place in Raccoon City, so they went out with a bang. It stars the lovely Jill Valentine trying to escape the city coinciding with the events taking place between Claire and Leon in Resident Evil 2. This installment is another great port and a great play of the Resident Evil Series.

Game play 8/10

The game play is traditional with the Resident Evil style, you either hate it or you love it. A couple of new options have been added to give the game new twists and turns. They kept my favorite part in, when a zombie starts chewing on your leg you kick their head off. Aside from what a lot of people say I found the game play interesting, fun, but challenging on hard mode. I guess it really is up to player skill when it comes to how challenging this game is.

Story 10/10

As with all the other Resident Evil's (excluding outbreak's) the more you play the game the more story you get. There are many many different endings that you can achieve and by replaying the game you always pick up something that you missed. It does a prologue in the beginning and epilogue at the end. This game should clear up unanswered questions from the previous Resident Evil's.

Graphics/Sound 5/10

Please don't hate me! On each of the Resident Evil ports that I have written a review on I gave a low score on graphics and sound. I felt that Capcom could have polished the games up a bit before shoveling them out to the consumers. I find the sound particularly annoying in this game because there is none. There is hardly any background music and it bugs me. The graphics are okay, but all things considered Capcom like I said could have done better.

Playtime/ Re-playability 10/10

This game has so much stuff to do that it will take you forever and a day to unlock everything and beat everything. There are 8 different endings in which you can acquire in hard mode, you have mercenaries mode, etc. Aside from all that it is fun to play. I mean come on what better way to take out aggression then shooting zombie heads off? Many hours of grotesque fun is to be had!

My final thought

If you're a fan of the Resident Evil series this is a must have to you Game Cube collection. You cannot beat everything with a rental, you just do not have the time. Not to mention that this game is fun to come back to after you haven't played it for a while. Yes I know it is hard to come by, but it is worth the effort. If you are new to the series I would suggest renting Remake so that you can get a feel for how the games are set up, I.e., controls, story, etc… Thank you all for reading my review, I hope it helps you out, have a great day and frightful night!
