Geist
Review by Kain vs Raziel
"Scare, Posses, and Control!"
Wow, I have been waiting far too long for this game. It changed its release date quite a bit. It is what you call an original idea, and to my knowledge no other game has attempted anything like this.
Game play 8/10
Well the controls are a little annoying at first, but once you get the hang of the controls you won't notice it. I think you get some were around 15 weapons, and numerous other ways to kill enemies. You also get quite a few people, creatures, and a lot of items to posses. Basically, take anything that s the enemies and use it against them. They did, however, limit your freedom. People and creatures can only be used if you scare them. In the game not every person or creature can be possessed, and there are also many item that you cannot use.
The multiplayer works well and has some "extra" weapons to find. It makes an interesting twist to first person shooters. I also liked the way they formatted the three screen split. Instead of one screen watching a player or a black screen, they made it where the screens were set up as a triangle.
Graphics 10/10
The programmers used top of the line graphics. They thought out every detail, and even changed the world according to who or what you are. It was pretty cool and worked quite well. They also put a few funny easter eggs in the game.
Story 7/10
The story was alright, but nothing too fancy. It was a cool idea to show some of the story showing you some of the possessed character's memories.
Sound 10/10
No problem with the sound. They included great sound effects, alright music, and pretty good environment sounds.
Lifespan 8/10
The single player story is alright and the multiplayer is pretty good. They did a pretty good job keeping it a live game. There are also a lot of things to collect that allow you to unlock new stuff.
Buyability 7/10
Well, if you are not going to use multiplayer then rent it or wait for a price drop. If you play multiplayers with friends and family a lot then buy it.
Overall 8/10
It was a great idea for a game and worked well.
They need to make the next one more like an action adventure if they want it to do better. They also need to keep some kind of multiplayer.
