NBA Street V3
Review by happyguy101
"One of the greatest Basketball games out there"
I have always been a fan of basketball, I've been watching and playing it since I was a little boy. And now I'm writing a review on one of the best basketball games out there. : NBA Street Volume 3.
Well if you're wondering, what the hell is V3? V3 is street, street ball actually, no stopping while playing, no fouls, no calls, you will not have to wait a minute to get into the hype of this game. I've been a fan of the street series since Street 1 came out in 2002. I've played NBA Live and ESPN 2K5, they're alright.
Gameplay 9
Let's start off with the gameplay. The gameplay is just ridiculous, ridiculously fan that is. I can't tell you how many times I just turned on the game to practice my dunking, yes it's that fun. It's fast fun paced basketball with no a slight flaw. The AI can be a little annoying sometime, making a wrong pass or something, but that's about it. So what's different from the other streets to V3? Not much really, except EA added a cool new feature, which is the "trick stick". The trick is is the right anolog stick on whatever system you're playing (Xbox, PS2, or Gamecube). This makes the game very flouid and easy to work with. It's very addictive when you start playing and you'll just want to get your rep up as much as possible. So the gameplay is awesome.
Graphics 9
The Graphics n Street 3 are very good. The facial expressions are very impression though not quite as good as Fight Night for whoever has played it. The character models also looks very good. The courts and the fans add a nice addition to the graphics, seeing as the courts all have their very own gorgeous lighting effects. The graphics get you involved in the game and they couldn't be much better.
Sound 9
The sound is very nice, everything sounds very accurate to what they're supposed to be. Dunking, shooting, the swoosh sound that the hoops makes when you hit a 3. The announcer, Babitto Garcia could probably be one of the biggest trash talkers ever, but you'll get to like him, and you can always turn him off if you'd like. Sounds is great.
Controls 9
The crontrols fit perfect. It feels very smooth while you're playing and EA did a nice job of making this work. And I'll have to say for myself, the dunking contest is a lot more easier with the trick stick than in the frustrating NBA Live Dunk contest. You'll never have to look at what you're doing. You'll get used to the controls your first game in about 5 minutes. It's very easy to pick up and play.
Extras/Replay 10
The Extras are awesome. When you win games in career mode you get points. You can use your points to highly upgrade your character, you can buy clothes for them, create a court maybe, and create your own shoe which I thought is a really cool idea. This game has a lot to unlock so it'll keep you busy for a while. Courts, players, and getting your player to 100 points in everything can take a lot of time and a good amount of replay value.
Overall
I've has this game since it came out in February and I won't be selling it for a while, it's too fun. You might always want to get the game twice, because in the Gamecube version you can be the Mario allstars. Peace, Mario and Luigi all get mad hops in V3, but that's only on Gamecube. I can't wait till EA decides to make a Street 4 because that will also be a hit. If you're looking for a very very fun, fast, basketball game and you're sick of all the fouls and waiting, this is the bball game for you that will have you busy for quite a while.
Enjoy
