NFL Blitz 20-02

"Another Blitz game, more fun!!"

It looks like there will be no more NFL Blitz games because EA Sports bought the rights to the NFL games..im not going to get into that though. I still believe this is a great game and so are other NFL Blitz games, but today, I will review this one.

GRAPHICS: 9
The graphics are pretty good, huge improvement from the N64 series but well, its the Gamecube so of course its going to have better graphics. All the team logos look real, the players look like they are on steroids but still fun!! The stadiums aren't that detailed and either are the fans but its no biggie unless your really picky. Its a football game, blitz style, so just play football and don't worry about the fans!! The jerseys look real nice too, right jersey colors. Bills have the old jerseys but I don't think they changed them until the 2002-03 season. Other then that, graphics are really outstanding.

GAMEPLAY: 10
The gameplay if very good. No Refs. No Rules. No Mercy. Good old NFL Blitz style. There are no penalties of course, one reason blitz is popular! You can still slam people to the ground, give them elbow drop, leg/butt drops, and even a chokeslam looking move!! There are plenty of plays to choose from in the playbook and you can even make up some of your own plays if you get bored with the ones in the game. You can try to make some running plays because there aren't many in the default playbook. Gameplay is perfect.

SOUND: 8
The sound is ok. I wish they had the music from the original Blitz because its the best music they have put on a blitz game. The announcers are funny-sometimes. Sometimes they get old and annoying but thats just part of the game. You can turn them off if you wish. Players moan and scream if they get tackled hard or you slam them after the play is through Sound is ok.

CONTROLS: 10
The controls are not hard to get use to what so ever. If you have problems with them then you can look in the instruction book or the guides here on GameFAQS if your game didn't come with one(mine didn't so I looked on here). Not that hard to learn though.

REPLAY VALUE: 9
Replay Value isn't that great. Yeah you can do Exhibition games after you've beaten season a couple times but it does start to get a little boring. There is a tournament you can do but not sure how that is, haven't done it yet. As long as you have a couple friends to play with and you DON'T use cheat codes like turbo, this game is fun.

OVERALL/RENT OR BUY: 9
This game is pretty good. It doesn't include the Houston Texans but its all good. This game if for people who do not want to play realistic football games like 2K5 or Madden. If your a fan of the Texans...for some reason, then get 2003 because they are not in this game. If suggest you rent this one first and if you want an upgrade on a couple Logos and Jerseys then go with 2003. Its not the expensive. Hope I helped!
