Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones
Review by Samus_Theman
"Best Gamecube game I've ever played!"
I've never played a Prince of Persia game before The Two Thrones but the first time I played TTT I just couldn't stop playing. It was simply the best Gamecube game I've ever played!
Story: 10/10
(from the instruction book) The Prince of Persia makes his way home to Babylon with Kaileena, the enigmatic Empress of Time. But instead of the peace he longs for, he finds his kingdom ravaged by war. Cast to the streets, haunted as a fugitive, the Prince soon discovers that the Sands have tainted him. They have given rise to a deadly Dark Prince, whose spirit gradually possesses him....
Gameplay: 10/10
Man, were should I start? This game has so much great gameplay. Well first off lest talk about what everybody loves most, fighting! In this game there are two forms of fighting, free form, and speed kill. Free form is just what it sounds like. Moving freely and doing combos to kill the enemies. When you are fighting a enemy there are many combos that you can perform to chop his head off, or cut him in half! I counted 82 different combos that you can do to free form fight. Now remember, that's only free form, we still have speed kill to talk about.
At first speed kills can be hard, then you get used to them and they are something that you do without even thinking about it. When an enemy has his back turned to you you have to sneak up behind him. (also you can be above him, or under him) When you get close enough to the enemy, the screen will get all distorted. When that happens the press the Y button. Then the prince attack's and the screen will turn all black and white. And that's when you press the B button to stab or slash the enemy. There are many different speed kills, depending on where you are when you press the Y button.
Later in the game you will be able to turn into the dark prince. He is the evil side that is inside of the prince. And when your him, your stronger, faster, but your constantly loosing health! That means you can't take your time figuring out a puzzle when you the dark prince, you have to move fast. But there are ways to regain your health One is breaking your surrounding, like pots, cups, baskets and tables. The other way is after you kill someone you get health. So you always want to be killing someone or breaking something to get health. But for fighting as the dark prince it's a little different. Not only do you have a dagger, but you also have a daggertail. Which is like a wip but with metal spikes. When your the dark prince there many different combos the can do using the dagger and the daggertail, also many different speed kills! Now that we have the basics of fighting down, it's time for platforming!
Not only this this game all about fighting, it's also about platforming. Platforming is just climbing and jumping from one thing to another. It sounds boring but it isn't and it can be very hard. When your the prince(or dark prince) you can run on walls and grab on to just about anything. Also throughout the game will will unlock sand powers. When you have theses you can, rewind time, slowdown time, and knock down a big group of enemies easily. You get theses powers later in the game and you have to use them for your advantage.
Graphics: 10/10
The graphics are amazing! Perhaps the best for the Gamecube. The graphics are colorful and look very clear. And they make you feel as if you were really in Babylon!
Controls: 10/10
The controls are very good and easy to get use to. And doing combos using the B, Y, and A buttons are easy and fluent.
Replay Value: 10/10
The replay value is great! There are so many different moves to do, and more then one way to get past a puzzle sometimes. This game is so fun there's no way you can play it only just once!
Rent or Buy:
Buy this game, you won't regret it! Don't rent it, buy it!
