Resident Evil Code: Veronica X

"Even Though It's the Same Thing..."
Resident Evil...a great license...a license that has never failed us...save the "Survivor" series. Resident Evil games are my favorite games of all time and for very good reason. They are irresistable. Once you get started, you can't stop. Soon you'll be reading the second-rate books and watching the horrible movies. Those industries almost ruined Resident Evil, but RE remains strong as ever.
This game is awesome! Most people down the GameCube version because it's a port..that doesn't make it any less fun! Popping down zombies is great and the weapon variety is better then the other games.
Like all Resident Evil games, this game is pretty difficult. If you aren't really, really beefed up, you'll have a hell of a time trying to defeat the final boss of the game. There are a few monsters in the game that will take you a while to get the hang of fighting. Also, there are the difficult puzzles you'll have to undertake in. These puzzles appear in nearly every Resident Evil game, and make the game just that much better.
The controls are kind of funky, but you'll get used to it. After you get around the whacked-out walking system, you'll be able to fully enjoy the game. Everything else about the controls are easy to understand.
The story is great. You're Claire Redfield (Chris Redfield from the original's sister), and you're trying to help your brother against his war against the Umbrella Corporation. The Umbrella Corporation is a pharmecutical company that created a virus that spread through Raccoon City which turned the residents into zombies. It also created other monsters. Well, she tries to attack one of their bases but is captured. She awakens in a cell with only one other person there. She escapes and you have to find your way off the island. There are a lot of plot twists and surprises which makes a Resident Evil game a Resident Evil game.
The graphics are so-so. There definately not as good as any of the other GameCube games. This could've been improved. The sound is great and is just as creepy as any of the other games. Which keeps you on your toes as you explore the island.
The game is decent length. It would've been better if it was just a little longer. There isn't much replayability and not very much to unlock, unlike the other Resident Evil games where you can unlock a lot more extra features.
The game is a renter. Most Resident Evil games are since the story will eventually get old and tiring. Still, this is a really great game for the Cube.
