Boogerman: A Pick and Flick Adventure
Review by RHunter
"Decent, Unique Idea"
Boogerman, a 1994 release from Interplay, approaches that line between good taste and disgusting. Still, if you've got a strong stomach and have ever watched Ren & Stimpy or Beavis and Butt-Head, you might enjoy this game.
Boogerman is out to save the world from his evil scientists nemesis, Prof. Stinkbaum, who is trying to move all of the world's waste to a different universe. Boogerman has some... unique weapons. He can flick boogers, hawk loogies, belch, fart, and blow fire after eating a chilli-pepper. Not a game to play with your girlfriend.
Boogerman spans 5 worlds and 41 levels, all of which contain traditional enemies like goblins, trolls and ghosts. The sound effects are quite comical, but the raspy-sounding voice clips bring the sound down a notch. The graphics and animations are quite slick and match the game's theme, however. Boogerman's controls are hard to learn but easy to master. You can use passwords in the game, rather than saving.
Boogerman is a disgusting game, but to tell you the truth it's actually quite well done and a lot of fun to play. There are lots of challenging levels that take you all through a vastly different universe than our own. It's worth a look if you're feeling really strange one night.
