Review by DARKSTORM

"Like,ZOINKS! Scoob, this game is one of the genesis's best"

I don't know anyone who dosn't like to watch Scooby Doo(anyone dises the Scoob faces the DARKSTORM).In 1995(the prime of the Genesis's life)Sunsoft released Scooby Doo on the Genesis and SNES,while they were different games(the SNES being more of an action game) the Genesis version was more of a kids version of the NES classic Deja Vu.

Graphics 9/10
The graphics are very cartoony and look just like the show.Even Shaggy and Scooby look like they do in the show(even their classic facial expressions are in this game)and they look better than animated characters based on animated movies and shows(like the Lion King and Toy Story).

Sound 6/10
In the game, for every case all you hear is the same music(which is sad),the only times the music picks up is when you are being chased by the ''monster''.Too bad the chase music couldn't be the corny,60's music from the show. It's been a long time since I've played this so I can't remember if classic sound effects like Shaggy's clasic ''ZOINKS!'',the only voice byte I can remember is Scooby'strdemark ''Scooby Dooby Doo''.

Gameplay 8/10
Ok,you play as Shaggy, with Scooby Doo following you.You solve mysteries and then unmask the bad guys.As Shaggy, you must gather clues to help solve the mysteries. All in All,the game is just like the T.V. show.

Humor 10/10
All the classic jokes from the show are in this game, from Shaggy's unmatched hunger(except Scooby dosen't eat it all before Shaggy gets a bite)to the classic ''door gag''(you remember, monster chases our gang, they go through another door, soon they are on the ceiling, chasing the monster themselves, ect)and I give a BIG thank you for keeping the classic humor in the game Sunsoft.

Story 10/10
The game features 2 cases unique to this game(i.e.not on the show). One has you finding out why Velma's uncle Blake was kidnaped and by who and where. The other has you stoping a ghost clown(no,its notHarry the Hypnotist)at the Ha-Ha Carnival. Both cases follow the show closely(thankfully no Scrappy Doo).

Rent or buy???
If you like Scooby Doo,buy this game as soon as possible.Uh,good luck finding a copy of this game,it's one ofthe rarest games(alongside Chrono Trigger,Dragon Warrior 4,Dragonball:Final Bout, and Final Fantasy 1).

Overall,I think this game is worth itifyou like Scooby Doo and you own a Genesis, just don't pay no more than $20 for it.And if you don't feel like paying $20 or more for a genesis game, there's a Playstation and N64 version coming out before the end of the year which will feature classic villians like the Black Knight.
9/10
