The Ren & Stimpy Show Presents: Stimpy's Invention

"One WEEEEEEEIRD game to say the least,but quite fun nonetheless."

Ah yes Ren and Stimpy,one of the weirdest,grosses,most sick little team of monkeys ever.But yet,they were also the funniest cartoons for it's time.Oh sure,it sparked alot of contorvesy for its time also,but when it came to Nicklodeon's cartoons,Ren and Stimpy was the #2 cartoon right behind Rugrats.At the height of their populatary the duo appeared on almost every system untill the arrival of the Playstation and N64 came along.And next to Buckaroos for the NES,this is the best of the 16-bit Ren and Stimpy games.

Story 10/10
The story is this,Stimpy has invented this machine(I forget what the name of it is),Ren and his fat and stupid friend try the machine out causing it to blow-up and scatters the parts all over the town to such locations to the Neighborhood to the Pound to the ''Great'' Outdoors.The only problem is that on the cover,Ren is wearing the ''Happy Hat'',in the game the famous ''Happy Hat''is nowhere to be seen.

Graphics 10/10
Graphics look just like the show...which is a good thing.Also,other characters like the Bloat Bros.,Powdered Toast Man,Mr.Horse,and Muddy Mudskipper make special apperances and they look just like they do in the show...which is also a good thing.

Sound 9/10
Some classic sound bytes like Stimpy's''I can hardly contain mysel'' to Ren's ''I'm hurting''.Themes like ''happyHappy,Joy Joy''to the show's theme music has been digitized for the Genesis.

Gameplay 9/10
For a platformer,it's quite good.You use both of our heros to attack(Ren rolls Stimpy like a bowling ball while Stimpy throws Ren like a boomerang).Some of the jumps are easy to miss,but the controll is tight.

Humor 9/10
With classic locations like the zoo and the pound there is lots of humor in these stages alone.The enemies are funny to look at,the only complaint is in levels like the zoo,I wish Ren and Stimpy wore the monkey costumes and i also wish with all the levels,I wish the Firehouse and the Army were in the game.

Rent or buy???
The game is short and a little easy,worth a weekend rental at least.

Like the show,the game is weird but funny and if you liked the show you will pick it up for old times sake
