"Average Side-Scrolling Game"
Marko, a unique side-scrolling game, was released in 1994 by a not-so-well known company by the name of Domark. Although nothing extra special, it's a fun little game.
Col. Brown has spread sludge all throughout the sewers, causing animals to mutate into hideous, dangerous creatures. It's up to you to stop these monsters before the Col. takes over the town.
Marko uses his football... err, soccer ball to fight his enemies. He can also use it to jump and bounce higher than usual. The graphics and animations in the game are very well done, with everything looking like it just popped out of a cartoon. Marko's over-sized head is a plus, as are the funny looking enemies he encounters.
The music in the game is fun to listen to, but the sound effects are tired, weak, and very unoriginal. At 13 levels, the game is fun and challenging. However, the control pulls everything down a notch - the soccer ball is very hard to direct and get it to go where you want it to, making everything that more frustrating.
Marko is a fun game if you can learn how to maneuver the soccer ball. Although there are better games, if you've already played them, Marko's worth a look.
