Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom
Review by Megid
"Quite diffrent from the other Phantasy Stars."
Phantasy StarIII:Genarations of Doom.
Phantasy StarIII was released in the 1991. It was a major departure from the rest of the series, and a dissapointment to many phans of the Phantasy Star series.
Story:1000 years ago Orakio fought Laya,in a brutal civalwar,at last the war came down to a final battle in which all combatants were slain, the bodies of Orakio and Laya were never found. Even now the names Orakio and Laya bring strong emotions of love and hate. Seven months ago a woman washed up on the shores of Prince Rhys' kingdom, the girl is named Maia, and Rhys and Maia are to be married, but as Rhys says his weeding vows a winged dragon swoops down and steals Maia. Rhys vows to find her, however his adventure will change the the future of the world.
Music/Sound:The Music is all very good exept for the annoying battle theme. The soundfx are however not good.
Graphics: PSIII's graphics are not as good as the could have been,as a matter of fact PSII's graphics are better.
Gameplay: Geting throght the menus is more complicated then it has to be. the battle system sufferes as well.
Overall:Phantasy StarIII is a good rpg,it is very imagantive then some newer rpgs. It is worthy of the Phantasy Star name but could have been better. One of its best feature is that there are mulitiple generations and endings which adds to replay value. If you have played the other Phantasy Star's go ahead and pick this one up.
