"The SNES version was better"
Rock 'n' Roll Racing, a 1994 release, was released for the Genesis a year after being released for the SNES. The Genesis release was definitely a worse game than the Super Nintendo version. It's a combination of racing and combat, with bad graphics thrown in for fun.
The Genesis version is basically the same game as the SNES version. You compete against three drivers, and all of you are in armored vehicles on short race tracks with bizarre, alien backgrounds. The tracks are littered with items, mines and other things. If you win the race, you win money. As you win more and more money, you can modify your car and it's weapons. You can square off against a friend in VS mode, as well.
R n' R racing has music that you've probably heard before, such as Bad to the Bone. Obviously, the music is not performed by the original artists. The sound effects are not used very effectively; explosions sound quite weak.
The graphics are bad too. Nothing is as sharp as it is on the SNES, and it's hard to see some of the shots that come from the weapons.
If you're looking to play Rock n' Roll Racing, try the SNES version. It's better than the Genesis version. Still, if you don't have a SNES, you might want to play it if you like racing games.
