Skitchin'
Review by Umm. . . Fred
"It really ticks me off that Road Rash gets more credit than this masterpiece."
I don't have alot of time, so I'm going to keep this short & sweet. This game didn't get the attention it deserved. If you like Road Rash, play this game. After playing this, you won't like Road Rash anymore.
Skitchin' was a rollerblading game where you and 14 other "skitchers" raced on the freeway. To win the race, you had to grab on to the back of cars that came from behind. Throw in some weapons and combat ala Road Rash, some hostile drivers, twelve tracks plus bonus tracks and you got yourself one heck of a game.
This game has great graphics. The animation is top-notch for the Genesis. The sound is also very well done, and the grungy tunes are very catchy. The gameplay here is awesome. Totally fun and original concept from the creators of RR. Repaly value is also high because there is many different game modes sucha as an 8-player tournament. Also, there are several bonus track to unlock, such as trick tracks and (my personal favorite) King of the Van. The only complaint I have about this game is the slowdown in the two-player co-op mode. It's not just slowdown, folks. The game will actually come to a hault. This is excuseable, because it's such a great game. Lets just hope they make a 4-player N64 update to this game as they are doing with Road Rash. Nine out of ten.
