Review by DevilSailormoon

"A game thats 3 genres in one, but gone wrong."

Normally, I like alot of games that I play. But this one however, is awful. This is the kind of game that mixes beat'em ups, platformers and racers with eachother. That would actually seem like a good thing. Sadly, they did this poorly. Anyway, lets get on with the review, shall we?

STORY: 1/10

The story here is almost nonexistent. But that doesn't mean there isn't one, because there is, but not enough of it. Anyway, the story itself is that one of the toads, Pimple, and his girlfriend, the princess, get kidnapped by the Dark Queen. We have seen stuff like this happen in many videogames before such as Mario, it's nothing new. The 2 other frogs, Rash and Zitz, must go and rescue their brother and his girlfriend from the Dark Queen. The cutscenes in the game are all the same thing. Don't worry about any spoilers when you ask for them because they aren't any. All it is, is Dark Queen saying stuff about the next world and saying stuff like "you can't get past this place this time", and then you got your commander, who says stuff like "go get 'em". Nothing storywise about that.

GRAPHICS: 6/10

This THE best part of the game, and the only good part too. They look very good for a Sega Genesis game, the colors are nice, the backgrounds are well done. However, almost all characters are the same color. Lets say a pink enemy. His cloths are all pink, his skin is pink, basically its like that.

SOUND: 4/10

While they may sound like rock music, which is cool. They are not exactly done right. They get very reptitive. There really isn't much to say about the sound though.

GAMEPLAY: 1/10

Ok, now we get to the worst(and most important) part of the game, the gameplay. As I said before, it is a mix of beat 'em up, racing and platformer. Now this actually sounds like something that could be good and entertaining. Unfortunately, they did it the wrong way. The beat 'em up stages are probably the easiest(and best) part of the game. The thing is, there aren't that many of them. They start out real easy on Worlds 1 and 3, but get alot harder after that. In the racing worlds, you have vehicles and you have to dodge obstacles to get by, or else you die and must start from the beginning of a check point again. You also cannot control your speed in the races and you keep going faster and faster, making it hard to dodge obstacles. You only get to slow down when you hit a new check point. The platformer stages are the 2nd hardest. They are like any other platformer game, but this is just generic and nothing special. Unlike the beat 'em ups, if you die, you do not start in the same location where you died. Instead, you go back to a random place in that world. Alot of the later worlds have enemies and objects that can kill you in 1 hit.

DIFFICULTY: 1/10(or should I put it on the difficulty scale where 10 is the highest and make it say 10/10)

This has got to be the hardest game ever. I mean yeah, I like a little bit of challenge in my games, but this? This is too much challenge, way too much challenge. I mean, Ninja Gaiden and Devil May Cry were hard, but nowhere near as hard as this. Unlike Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden(1, 2, 3 and Black), this game is not fun for its challenge, while those games actually are. The intense challenge makes the game more like torture than it does fun.

Final words: Do not get this game unless you want something nearly impossible to finish.
