"Living proof that Old-School games are still fun."
I know many of you out there have played this game and I hope the majority of you enjoyed it as much as I did=)
Gameplay The characters are pretty easy to control, but there can be a few problems. It is a really fun game, especially in the split-screen 2-player mode. There are also boxes in the game that contain things like spring-shoes and icarus wings that let you bounce or fly across the level. The game is about a medium difficulty. You could beat it in a day if you tried, but its not as easy as..say..Yoshi's Island 2 ::shudder::
Story Our funky dudes (remember that this was made in the early 90s) Toe Jam & Earl from Funkotron depart on their spaceship. However, as the bumbling Earl takes control, he crashes into an asteroid and their ship plummets to Earth. Their goal is to travel through the crazy planet of Earth and find the missing pieces to their ship.
Audio/Video The music is kind of an early hiphop-techno beat. It isn't really too annoying. Plus, the sounds aren't too bad either. The characters will say something from time to time and some of the enemies make sounds too. The elevator scenes between levels are funny in a childish sort of way. Replayability I doubt that you'll want to play more than twice, but I've played it about 5-6 times and still found it fun. There are 2 different modes of play..one is where the pieces are always in the same places and the other is a random level. Buy or Rent? Well, not many places rent out Genesis games anymore, but you could probably get it for a cheap price at FuncoLand to add to your Genesis game collection. This is truly a Genesis game that everybody should own.
