"This is the worst game I have ever played in my life."

Hello, my name is Nick, and this is my Monopoly review for the Sega Genesis console. Is this game fun and exciting, or boring like the San Antonio Spurs? Let's find out.

I'm an old school gamer, many years ago my mom took me and my little sister to the local Blockbuster store to rent a game for our Sega Genesis, the hot gaming system at the time. Since I rented a game last time, Street Fighter 2, my mom decided that it was only fair that my little sister should pick a game this time. I was mad as hell, but I was only a kid, so what could I do? Anyway, after warning her of the dangers of renting a Barbie Adventure game, and Beauty And The Beast, I thought I was in the clear, but she did even worse...she rented Monopoly.

SOUND: 1/10

There is not much to say about the sound, but I must say the game does not sound that good. Not good is an understatement, it's just so generic sounding, such poor MIDI sound bites doesn't get the average gamer in the mood to play Monopoly at all. How hard is it to make a realistic dice rolling sound?

STORY: 1/10

A game without a story is like a pretty girl with short hair, it just isn't right. The gameplay isn't strong enough to make you forget about the lack of a story either. So if you play this, not only are you bored, but since there's no story, you don't know why you're even playing this game!

GRAPHICS: Meh/10

Back in the day, gamers didn't care about how pretty a game looked. But this game definitely wasn't pushing the limit of the system.

GAMEPLAY: 1/10

Gameplay, the most important part of any game. If you've played the Monopoly board game, the strategy of the game is to buy a bunch of properties and at the same time avoid getting bankrupt. Unfortunately, board games don't translate too well in video games, and this game is no different. You're placed on a giant Monopoly styled board, you roll the dice and either reap the rewards or pay the price depending on what spot on the board you've landed on....boring.

But the worst part of it is this...THE GAME NEVER ENDS!! That's right, there is no winner, you just stay on the Monopoly board forever, or until you turn off your Sega in frustration.

PROS:
-None

CONS:
-The game never ends! How is that possibly and what where the creators of this game thinking? "Look guys, lets make a game where it never ends!"

-Bad sound

-No replay value at all.

-It's just a very bad game overall.

-This game is the equivalent of watching a Spurs-Nets marathon on tv. It's boring and lacks the authenticity and charm of the board game.

Board games aren't as popular as they once were, but if you really want to play Monopoly, do yourself a favor and avoid the video game and stick to the board game.
