"AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME!"
I MUST SAY, THIS GAME IS AWESOME! You star as Pulseman, the android of destiny! You don't have a Genesis?? Get one, dammit! And get this game from Japan, dammit!!!!!!
Graphics: 9/10
Stunning! Pulseman himself is very creative, and the detail makes him look big and tough! The enemies are radical, from the gorillas, to the jetback bumblebees! The end boss, Monocle Man, looks incredibly comical, and makes you laugh out loud and wonder why Pulseman would be after such a dopey looking enemy!
Sound: 10/10
The music was stunning, and sounds are excellent for the Genesis! Pulseman's attack sound effects are extrodinary, and the growls from the gorillas are incredibly cool! The music used for the factory level is up there with the Magetik Factory music from Final Fantasy 3 it's so good! The voice acting is downright hilarious, and all of the voices fit the characters incredibly well. When Pulseman dies, you can't help but laugh with the sounds they use!
Gameplay: 10/10
Forget Contra, Mega Man, Gunstar Heroes, Metal Gear, and other famous action games! This one tops over them all! Pulseman begins in a jungle, where he must face many gorillas and bubmblebees that use jetpacks to fly. The end boss is Amazon Amy, who can blend in with the background and shoot pellets at you. Next comes the graveyard, where mutant apples will fall from trees running at you, bombs fall from the sky, and the jet bumblebees return. The end boss is Ghastly Gloria, who can attack with her spinning kick jump and spit water. After she's defeated, Pulseman must enter her and find her DNA that gave her power. Inside her, Pulseman fights germs, enters blood clots, and saves a blood cell in need. At the end you must kill Micro Mary, who has a ferocious germ storm. After defeating Micro Mary, Pulseman goes out, and goes through the second half of the graveyard. This one contains evil dwarves. after enough exploration in the graveyard, Pulseman finds a hatch, which takes him to an underground sewer. Seeing that Pulseman is getting close to Monocle Man, he faces many enemy troops, as well as a few tanks. The end boss are Jane and Rina, who have a combo of electricity and fire. When Pulseman defeats them, he finds the entrance to Monocle Man's lair, and enters using the key. The rest is up for you to discover, but I can tell you there are more than 3 levels inside the lair!! Also, Pulseman uses the DNA code to breakthrough Monocle Man's evil traps, which is quite fun indeed!
The challenge is high, for there are numerous levels, and the action never ever stops!
Replay?? You'll be playing this gem forever! I can't believe how good it is! I've been playing it every day I can ever since I got it!
Overall: 10/10
An outstanding game for the Genesis, or for any system!
