"Decap Attack - Head Throwing could never be so much fun!"
Introduction: Have you ever played a game where you are a mummy and have to restore 7 pieces of an island by throwing your face at enemies? Play Decap attack! A Sega Mega Drive game (or Genesis, if you live in the U.S) that lets you throw faces and heads at monsters risen from the dead by controlling your character: Chuck D. Head. I sure liked it and I think you will too.
How the game plays: The game feels smooth and it's easy to play. You can jump to squash most enemies but you can use a face or a head for a boomerang. The controls can feel a bit slippery when trying to maneuver but it's easy to overcome. It is a bit tricky but if you learn patterns of enemies and bosses, difficulty shouldn't be too much of a problem. It's a game to pick up and play for a long time. If you have friends round, play it in turns and feel the excitement.
Story: Max D. Cap has risen from the underworld and has split Body Island into 7 different islands. Dr. Frank N. Stein tells Chuck to stop Max D. Cap from taking over the surface world. Max D. Cap challenges anyone who stands in their way, and he's not alone. If anyone is foolish enough to do so. You much restore the islands by finding 7 different items in each third stage of each island, then defeat the boss sent out by Max.
Graphics/Sound: The graphics for the game are quite detailed but nothing special. The backgrounds are worth two looks at. The character/Enemy/floor tiles are all basic but have a detailed touch. The music is by far one of the most well constructed soundtracks I have ever heard. The sound effects can quite annoying especially the jump sound. Later though the game, you won't even notice it.
Play time: You could complete this in 1 and a half hours if you're really good but it might take 2 hours if you're a first timer. When playing for the first time, you'll be thoroughly addicted but if you've completed the game, you may not want to complete it again but you can still play a few levels then play something different.
Final Words: This is a fun game to play even if it's frustrating in places. If you have a Mega Drive, buy this game, it'll be worth your while. This game is also on Sega Mega Drive Collection if you have a PS2 or PSP.
I'll give this game: 7/10.
