Thunder Force III

O.K. Thunder Force III. Well Sega must have listened to all the Genesis players who said THIS SUCKS when playing the awful awful crappy overhead parts of Thunder Force II because they're all gone here. Just 100% lean mean side scroll fun like part 2 should have been. Oh well learn from your mistakes or you're doomed to repeat them, right! Um yeah.

Well the Genesis had a lot of junky shooters and you really had to look to find ones that were alright but this one is good. It's not the best shooter but pretty good for 16 bits and there aren't any annoying overhead views to annoy you to all hell so it stays pretty fun for the whole game.

Story - 2

SIGH bad guys are making trouble in the universe. You as the good guys have to fly around to a bunch of planets and kill all the bad guys there before fighting the head bad guys themselves. Yaay great story guys.

Game Play - 7

Well if you like side scroll goodness then come on over because it's the main course! Just fly around and shoot, good fun action the whole game and it doesn't get too slow or fast. You can also get 5 weapons like twin guns and the mighty mighty H GUN which automatically shoots at the enemies!! Get the mighty mighty H GUN and just turn off the game because you'll be INDESTRUCTABLE and the game will be too easy even the bosses! Anyone can beat this game it's so easy, even on Maniac Mode a little kid can beat it!!! That's how easy it is. Still fun though until you beat it too many times.

Sound - 4

For one time finally the SEGA SOUND doesn't get too bad and you can hear the music crystal clear. The music really SUCKS though so too bad. Sometimes it's really wimpy like in the underwater level, for a game like this it should be fast and exciting but it isn't. It's okay though sometimes when you're fighting bosses but the normal music sucks.

Graphics - 8

Very very nice graphics Sega. PARALLAX and plenty of it!! The fire stage is really cool because you can see flames zig zagging in the background but sometimes it gets hard to see. The bosses are very big but they're all the same after the guy in the first level the big bad DRAGON GUY!! It's good except in some levels like underwater but when you're in the sky Sega did a good job.

Conclusion - 7

It's way way better than part 2 and it's not the best shooter. I've ever played though. But for the Genesis it's great since it had a lot of BAD shooters. So I say get it but remember it's real easy and it won't take too long.
