"Will Harvey has a sick mind, thatt's why I love this game."

The Immortal by Will Harvey/EA is one of my all-time favorite games. It combines the adventure/RPG element with some sick action. Here's an example of the sick I speak of. In the first level, the first troll you fight is a rather easy battle. As you slash him, blood sprays out. When you kill him, you raise your staff, and aim at his head. His head starts to grow, and a second later, it explodes, leaving his brains, eyeballs, head pieces, and blood all over the floor. The view of the game is a 3/4 overhead type view. Another thing I liked, when you kill a guy, he stays on the main map. When a battle ensues, it zooms in to a 3/4 shot of you and him, with both participants' life and fatigue bars. Fatigue makes you swing slower, making you more susceptible to attacks. There are many items, puzzles, deathtraps, fights, etc. to take care of, and believe me, this game is HARD. There are times where if a certain thing happens, like if someone dies that's not supposed to, you can't proceed. Many things like this happen, impeding your process, so be careful about every little thing you do, and take notes... Mapping may also be useful, but it's not really a necessity, just one of those things that's up to you. I'd suggest writing down everything that happens to you, it will help you out in the long run.

Gameplay: 8/10
Pretty solid gameplay, nothing spectacular, but it isn't bad.

Graphics: 8/10
The graphics aren't the best, but they don't have to be (although I really like the ''graphic'' graphics, hehe [i.e. killing a Troll and slicing his head off, blood spurting everywhere, or killing a Goblin and slicing him in half...the sickness of this game is just too great])

Sound/Music: 8/10
Some of the music will get annoying, but it's not that bad, and the sounds are pretty good.

Challenge: 10/10
This game is really friggin' hard. I've owned the game for a few years, and I finally beat it today (5/12/01). There are SO many deathtraps that will get you, and the final fight is all based on good timing, and using the right spells, etc.

Story: 8/10
You don't really see much of a story aside from having to rescue Mordamir, but little things do happen, such as the Troll/Goblin war, etc.

Overall: 9/10
This is an incredibly difficult, but sick and fun game. If you like games like this, definitely buy it. If you don't like games like this, buy it anyway.
