Beavis and Butt-head

Review by Doctrine Dark

"A pretty fun game. Ahuhhuhuh."

You gotta admit Beavis and Butt-Head was the thing back then I mean they made a crap load of merchandise based on the comic duo and you could not walk in somewhere without hearing at least one person saying Ahuhuhuh or any other of thier catchphrases and I too loved this show. Well today Beavis and Butt-Head are almost a thing of the past and Mike Judge's real stay now is King of the Hill but let's get onto game now. Beavis and Butt-Head for the Genesis is kind of stratistic in some ways and it involves you finding ticket pieces. Why are they looking for ticket pieces you ask well Beavis and Butt-Head are watching T.V as normal(Making fun of music videos)and come across an ad to a GWAR concert so they buy tickets to the concert and well long story short the tickets end up being shredded and now they are looking for the missing pieces(No offense guys but those ticket pieces could be in Japan right about now but then again Beavis and Butt-Head don't have a vast intellect do they). The game starts out in Beavis and Butt-Head's house grab the remote and use it on the T.V and pick a stage you want to visit including Turbo Mall 2000,Gwar Concert(Well not til you get all the tickets),Burger World,Street,High Land High School,Drive in Theater, and The Hospital. You also have cash too that you can earn from the Burger World customer or at the Pawn Shop in the mall(Giving the guy an item that he wants though)and money could be useful in some instances. The duo can also use some weapons either lying around or buying one on sale like a bat with a boxing glove on it(Frog Baseball anyone?). So uhh you want to get to the review ahuhuhuhuh.

Graphics
Very good. Beavis and Butt-Head look exactly like they do on the show and almost all of the levels show the same kind of art style used on the show. There are some cameos present like Earl,Todd, that monkey guy from the freak show episode,Mr.Anderson, even Daria makes a guest appearance. The guys that made this game really did their homework and it almost feels like you are indeed watching an episode of B&B(Not really but they did such a nice job).

Gameplay
Well looking for the tickets is not an easy task I will tell you that. The levels include some puzzles here and there so that you can find a piece like for example in Burger World go to the dumpster get the dead rat(How did the developers managed to get away with something like that),go into Burger World put the rat into the fries then give the rat fries to the customer and he vomits up a ticket piece(Good thing they didn't show the guy throwing up but it doesn't explain why the ticket is there). Beavis and Butt-Head work pretty much as a duo like Donkey and Diddy Kong and most of the stuff they do is based on actual episodes(Like you try to outrun Billy Bob on his motorized scotter). Pretty good not really good.

Sound
The music includes the regular Beavis and Butt-Head theme and the rest of it is average rock music that sound pretty good. What's really good though is that there are many voice clips here for the duo and they include the usual Ahuhuhuh and such others like ''This Sucks'' or ''Yeah that was Cool''. There are also some barfing and farting noises present for people out there that are interested in toilet humor. A really nice job.

Control
You can jump, run away, and also use weapons. Beavis default weapon is his barfs and Butt-Head's main weapon of choice is you guessed it his farts(I like Beavis' barfs over Butt-Head's farts since they came out faster). There are some weapons along the way including a toy gun,a pea shooter,a baseball that only Butt-Head could use,and also a chain saw for Beavis but can't be used on enemies but it is very important somewhere along(Oh you'll see why). There are also some regular items here like a bone, camera,a box of oil and many others that could be used to find more ticket pieces. Control is okay I suppose.

Replay
You only get one life here and whoever dies first ends the game(Sucks don't it good thing there's some food that could restore your life). Two players can also team up to find the ticket pieces but either it is going to be a while before you find all the ticket pieces but you get a password once in a while so that you could continue where you left off. Replay value is alright.

Final Word
As of this writing I have only beaten this game once(There are two ending a good ending and the really good ending)on a three day rental and trust me it took some time before I got all the ticket pieces. If your a newbie to this game then look at an FAQ first because going at this game head first could be quite confusing without you knowing what to do. Die hard Beavis and Butt-Head fans should give this game a shot and besides it is quite entertaining as well.
