"For the first game, It won my respect"
A lot of people slam this game horribly, but let's face it, for a first time game from the Genesis, it was pretty wicked. I, however, didn't find this game on Genesis, but in an arcade. I have played both, and beat the Genesis version. The levels may be short, but the graphics were very nice. The music was good, and as for voices, for a Genesis game, it is pretty good. Graphics I will give a nine, for such an early state. Sound will get a nine. Levels get a 6, they are real short, but look very good. The storyline is an 8, it may be a popular storyline, but hey, they spiced it up with Greek Mythology. Overall, I would give this game a nine. So read the rest, and go get the game already.
I would suggest playing this title, because if you like Mario, but think it is too long, this game is for you, just without the blocks and all of that stupid jumping. The main plot is to save Athena (a Greek goddess, NOT A PRINCESS!!!) from Neff, an evil sorcerer. Zeus and the other gods are too busy, so Zeus has brought you back from the grave to save his daughter. With this, he gives you the power to turn into a beast (after capturing three blue orbs from a blue Cerebus like dog). The first orb gives you a moderate body with better strength, the seconds turns you into a superman, and the third, of course, turns you into a beast. There are four different beasts in this game, Wolf, Dragon, Bear, Tiger, Golden Wolf. My fave is the bear, but that is just my opinion.
You get five levels, and plenty of enemies (such as evil goats, roaches, zombies, and many more. The bosses of the five levels are (1) Aggar, A demon who rips off his face and throws it at you, (2) Octeyes, A many eyed plant which tries to poison you, (3) Moldy Snail, a snail looking creature that sends energy waves at you, (4) Crocodile Worm, a crocodile spliced with a worm that emits little dragons at you, and (5) Neff, who turns into a rhinoman and tries to gore you. This is a two player game. So I suggest rent (if you still can) or buy this game and either play it by yourself or drag a friend over to play the first for Genesis. DRLS.
