"How did all those rats get there in the first place?"

For such a good show, I don't understand why Nintendo and Sega kept pumping out such horrible games (the Arcade ones were fantastic, mind you). Krusty's Funhouse was fun...that is, until it got boring.

Gameplay: 6

There are five sections of the funhouse. Each section has tons of rooms. These rooms are huge and filled with rats! The whole object of the game is to lead the rats to the trap (one in each room). I'd like to first point out some info on the traps. The same exact one is in every room in the given section, but another section has a different one and is located in every room. Do you follow? OK, I'll make it easier. Section 1 has a trap with a glove that smashes the rat. This trap is manned by Bart. Section 2 has Homer, frying the rats with 10,000 volts of electricity. Section 3 has Sideshow Mel, pumping the rats full of air and exploding them. Section 4 has Corporal Punishment, eating them (um...), and Section 5 has Bart (again), slicing through the rats with a cheese grater. Now, how do you get these rats to the traps? Why, with the use of walls, blocks, pipes, jars, blowers, and pits. The rats always move forward, and reverse their direction once they run into a wall. Krusty has to make use of the objects in order to have them walk right into the traps. Sounds easy, right? Nope, sorry. Rooms are unbelievably large, and a lot of the later levels have tons of...well, traps I guess, that keep the rats from actually walking into the designated traps. These include ditches, between walls, in jars, etc. Overall, it may be a lot of fun, but it just gets boring after an hour. At least there's passwords...after every section. They're easy to figure out. Once I got the Section 3 password, Section 4 and Section 5 were easy to figure out...

Sound/Music: 4

Horribly repetitive and non-changing. The only time it changes is when you enter another section. That makes only 5 different tracks of music in all! You could go crazy, sincerely! As for sound, it's pretty cool and graphic when the rats enter their traps. You can here the volts zapping the rats, or the rats slicing through the cheese grater. The only problem with the sound is there isn't much to distract you from the ''painful to the earholes'' music.

Graphics: 4

The major gripe I have about this is that nothing is proportional. Rats are as wide as Krusty and they go up to his waist. Homer, though the same height as Krusty, looks like a kid. Krusty could literally fit in one of the jars, but the game doesn't let you. Krusty is always walking around with that stupid grin on his face. The only time he changes it is when your health is low, and he starts panting when you stop. This proves useful, because that is the only way you can tell his health is running low. The scenery isn't very good to look at either. Sure, it's colorful, but way too colorful. All the rooms are also full of pointless posters that say things like ''Watch Kent Brockman tonight on Channel 6''. Simpsons characters look good, though, so it's not a big loss.

Story: 9

Actually a pretty good story. Krusty's Funhouse is overrun with hundreds of rats. Krusty then builds extremely elaborate traps in order to kill the rats, but somehow puts them in the wrong spot. Why didn't he just stomp all of the and just sprayed the funhouse with a hose? OK, nevermind...eww...

Replayability: 7

Even though the game isn't really all the fun, you still get the urge to come back to it. I have, my friends have, and you probably will. Then you'll wonder why you went back to it, then you'll drop the cartridge on the floor and stomp on it a bunch of times...

Overall: 6

It was better than average, but not by much. You can't rent it anymore, but don't even bother buying it, especially if you don't like puzzle games. If you can find it for about a dollar, then go ahead and buy it. Then you can sell it to some idiot for 20 bucks. If that doesn't work, you can always use it as a paperweight.
