"Looks like another Street Fighter wannabe"
Honestly. It may have some new features, but not enough.
Graphics 6/10
The graphics are not at all impressive. It is hard to judge distances sometimes, and the pseudo 3-D thing (see game play) Makes things even worse. The monsters are ugly, too. However, I have seen much worse than this, so I think a 6 is about right.
Sound 7/10
The sound wasn't too bad. It had all the same kind of repetitive music that is common to a traditional fighter. Despite how repetitive it is, though, it can easily be ignored. The monsters do pretty much the same thing that the people do in other games, they roar, grunt, yell and make other noises. All in all, the sound was still average quality for it's time.
Story 1/10
Story? Where? It is a bunch of mutant Godzilla type giant things that kill each other to see who is the toughest. Wow.
Gameplay 4/10
First, the good things. The environment is interactive. You can pick up rocks and sky scrapers and throw them at you opponent. You also have to watch out for environmental hazards, such as lava or whatnot. Some people think a fighter should not have these things, that the game should concentrate on the one-on-one action. I and others think that an interactive stage adds excitement and variety to an otherwise mediocre Street Figher Clone. Now, onto the bad side. The combat is the same kind of button mash that you see in most games. You press left, down, right, and A to blah blah blah. Yeah. I wouldn't give it a bad score for that, since it is a common and popular move system. The problem is that the combos don't always register, even when entered correctly. Now your probably saying ''So what is this pseudo 3-D thing?''. Well, have you ever played a side scroller, such as Streets of Rage? You not only move left and right, but there is also up and down movement. The problem here is how to judge whether and attack has enough reach to get and opponent that is not directly to the front. I mean, what is more confusing that 2-D characters trying to have a 3-D battle?
Replayabilty 9/10
Like all fighters, this game thrives on replayability. If you liked beating your friends or the computer once, you will most likely want to do it again, and again, and again...
Overall 4/10
The graphics weren't too bad, and neither was the sound, but the poor gameplay killed this game for me.
