Crusader of Centy
Review by muyguapogrant
"Very good beginer RPG"
This game is not as bad as many people claim it to be. This is actually a very fun game that you will play over and over. Crusader of Centy, although extremely short and easy, is definetely worth the 10 bucks you will pay for it.
Story--4/10
This is a very bizzare story, one that I have yet to understand completely. Something about a boy who does not say one word throughout the entire game gaining the ability to speak to animals and take them with him, and learns that humans and animals are one and the same. He also has the need and desire to get the king's sword. The story is extremely thin, but it is there....even though you probably won't know what the heck you're doing.
Graphics--8/10
Nice, bright, flavored kids graphics. They look really good, the backgrounds look great, and the animals hold their own in the graphics world. This was done near the end of the Genesis reign, so the graphics are much better than typical early Genesis graphics.
Control--10/10
Very good with this game. You can jump (eventually), swing your sword, and throw your sword (eventually). Although this may not sound too exotic, it's the several creatures you gain that enhance different controls. There are ways to make your main character run extremely fast, and there are ways to control the sword, all depending on the animal. One of the games' highest points.
Difficulty--3/10
Once you get through it once, this game is a cakewalk. The first time you play through it though, you may have a couple minor problems, but nothing major. You can get through this game in under 10 hours easily.
Music/sound--8/10
While some of the music is rather bland, a few tunes, such as the tower music, are extremely catchy. Even those tunes that are not as catchy are nothing to complain about, for it helps the games' atmosphere.
Replay Value--9/10
This is a great game to play when you are waiting to get the next game to beat. I have worked my way through this a few times, and although there are not too many bonus quests, it is still fun to play.
Overall--8/10
Despite the ease of the game, Crusader of Centy will always be one of my favorites for the Genesis. Oh yeah, this is another ''child endangerment'' game. As soon as he turns 12, his mom gives him his sword and lets him go off by himself into dangerous areas. I wonder, why do video game makers feel the need to make the hero a young boy? I've only reviewed 6 games, and 3 of them have had child endangerment. But whatever. Till next time, Peace.
