All your base are belong to us
It does. This is the game that started the craze. It's fun no matter what your age though. Sure people may not like it but hey. Some people do and some people don't. Personally I enjoy this game and I hope you might also. It's an addicting game even for this time and age.
Move 'Zig'
Gameplay:9/10
Ever played one of those space games? You know where you go on a scrolling screen and shoot everything in your way? This is like that. You basically make things go 'Boom'. It's got a level of challenge though. Also you can grab power ups for two little buddies that'll help you out. And with the little tractor beam thing you can use enemies as a shield. A perfect way to protect yourself without having to go up or down. Still, they only last one hit so don't expect too much out of them. Also, pressing that button again will launch them off. Over all the gameplay is fun and you can be a bit more creative than just shooting.
What you say?
Story:5/10
I'm not totally sure about this one. It's a bit hard to understand due to the mistranslating of it, but the basic idea is simple. War is breaking out in the future. Simple enough. This would have gotten higher had it made any sense but, I guess it's all right. Not like you'd expect a major story from a space shooting game.
Eat human shield!... Oh this's going to hurt in the morning.
Challenge:7/10
This isn't a perfect challenge but it's good enough. You have to use what you have if you want to survive. You'll quickly learn also that the game isn't merciful when a series of one hit kill ships swarm you around the beginning. Not pleasant if you aren't ready to fight. You're going to be constantly swarmed from there on so be sure you're on your toes.
You know what you doing?
Controls:10/10
Simple, easy, efficient. A is for shooting. B causes you to use a tractor beam like thing and C is for... something I'm not sure of. The control pad moves you around the screen. Simple and easy. Easy to use. But use of it correctly can get a bit hard. After a few tries it'll become easier to dodge and such. Easy to learn. A bit harder to master.
I see the light... IT BURNS IT BURNS!
Graphics:9/10
Love these graphics. For genesis these are pretty good. The characters in the little movies are nicely done and the ships are detailed nicely. Not so detailed you can see the tiny scratches but detailed enough that it's nice. Some things though what make some sense but then again, games don't have to make sense to be good. Graphics don't make the game but it's better than looking at stick figures.
We get signal!!
Sound/Music:10/10
The sound is good. The explosions may not be loud but this is space. There shouldn't be any noise at all, but I still like the muffled explosions. The music is also nicely done. I love it personally. The music is nicely kept to pace with the level. I've no gripes with it either. It may not be classic but it's still easy on the ears.
For great justice.
Buy or Rent?
I'm not sure. Some people may not like it so if you can still find it rent it. 'Course you could probably get it cheaper buying it. It's a good game and it'll keep you busy. If you aren't a fan of space games and such you might want to steer clear. Still, it's a nice game and I recommend you buy it.
