"A lot of features for a Genesis game"
Introduction
Fatal Fury, the fighting game that has been left in the shadows, by Street Fighters and the Crossovers (example: Marvel versus Capcom) But yet some people in the world, has played this wonderful fighting game. Many features added to it since the older console fighters. This could have been a really hit, but it lacks in many things that Street Fighter series had...more characters. It has on feature that probably most recognizable. To find out more, you'll have to read the rest of this review.
Gameplay, Controls, and Features
The gameplay is good, short like all fighting games. But this is kind of different, it has a story line. Your sister has been kidnapped so you're going to defeat the ''boss'' that took her. You can pick the brother, or two other characters that don't have a story line. So you fight his henchmen and then when you're finished with all of them you fight the ''boss''. The controls are easy kick, punch, grab and throw, and finally the recognizable feature: you can jump between the two sides, so it's like a ''pre-3D'' thing. You do that by using the shoulder buttons. Another feature that has been in most fighting games is the same place but different time like a day, night, and dawn, timing.
Graphics / Pictures
Good, doesn't have much shadow effect as the Street Fighter, but it's still good. Combo effects has good animation, each strike of the character is pretty normal. Characters three, opponents about seven, and one ''boss''. Not bad, but not good either. quite normal I don't really know the FPS (Frames Per Seconds) on this, maybe just around 20, or maybe I'm wrong so don't count on me, to know it. There's about sixty different colors in the whole game.
Sounds Effects and Music
Well, not really the best, but not much of the fighting games with the games lower than 64-bits console are any good. Some of the effects are:
Hitting on the ground, punching, kicking, grabbing, grunts, combo sound effects, and some more. Only a little music though, but who needs it in a fighting game?
Some Final Words and To Buy or Rent?
This is a pretty good, and you should get this too. Very fun, for the Genesis. Buy it, it's just maybe five dollars and the console is just ten dollars maybe around your local game store. So, I give this game an eight out of ten. AMAZING
