ToeJam & Earl

"Shut up Sonic!"

I don't know where to start. I just want to say this game, Toejam & Earl is eight times better than the Sonic the Hedgehog series. I owe all my thanks to Greg Johnson, and Mark Voorsanger (Founders of JVP: The company Toejam & Earl belong to). Sonic the Hedgehog didn't realize that Sega was almost going to make TJ & E their mascots. Onto my review:

Gameplay: No one else can come up with this! Toejam (the short, red, alien with three legs, and the large medallion) and Earl (the peach-colored, plump alien wearing blue and red polka-dotted Bermuda shorts) were riding in their rocket ship when Earl said he wanted to drive. To make a long story short, they crash-landed on a weird planet. In order to leave the planet, they must search for the ten pieces for their rocket ship. Explore 25 levels to get the ten pieces! Exciting! Final Score: 10/10

Graphics: I hated to give this an 8.5, because this was the only down point of the whole game. Most of the graphics are pretty good except for all the characters in the game are too small, and don't have much detail. However, some of the other graphics, like when Earl is on rocket skates, are pretty laughable. Maybe Sonic the Hedgehog should have thought of this! Final Score: 8.5/10

Music / sound: The music is very upbeat! You can even dance to these tunes (I wish I could say the same for Sonic the Hedgehog)! Sound is also great! It almost sounds real! Voices are extremely funny! Toejam says ''YOUCH!'' like a girl! Final Score: 9.6/10

Fun: This game can be described with two words: Fun and funny! Sonic's games are sad, and stupid. A lot of the presents are funny, like the Icarus Wings, the super hi-tops, and the spring boots. Some earthlings can get a little annoying like the Fat man pushing the lawn-mower. Final Score: 9.3/10

Replayability: It can take at least 5 hours to complete the game, if you know what you are doing. You might want to play this game again and again, day after day, week after week! Sonic, Well maybe not. Final Score: 10/10

Buy, rent, or neither: Buy! Of course, or look for it on Ebay for about $15 because it is very rare.

Final Score for game: 10. That's right! One-zero! An excellent game for Genesis fans of all ages. Plus one more thing. BOYCOTT SONIC THE HEDGEHOG!
