"A Must Have Title for Genesis Owners"

This is truly a classic game. I bought this game the day it came out and have passed it probably about ten times or more. It is just so incredibly fun. On with the review.

Gameplay – 10/10 – Score! Not many games on the Genesis are as fun to play as this game. It is a 3rd person side-scrolling shooter. You will be battling against velociraptors, raptors, pterodactyls, triceratops, a T-Rex and those really some carnivore dinosaurs (can not remember what they are called). The levels are well thought out and various dinosaurs DNA is hidden in each level (the DNA is not essential to the game its just there to collect). Your adventure will take place on a savanna, a boat an aviary and more. The levels are also well designed and range from climbing down an aviary to riding a dinosaur through a savanna to driving a boat down rapids or you can play as a raptor (but you wont be able to drive a boat…obviously). The variety of gameplay is truly incredible. There are a plethora of weapons to obtain throughout the game that stay with you on your whole adventure. They range from the shotgun to the machine gun to the very lame tranquilizer gun, plus many more.

Control – 10/10 - This game is a dream to control. You have your basic controls of jumping, shooting, and changing weapons, that’s about it. It is very easy to just pick up this game and play cause it will take a person no more than 2 minutes to have the controls figured out.

Story – 4/10 – Not very much of a story here. Basically all you do is obtain various types of dinosaur DNA and escape the boss at the end of the game. The incredible gameplay depth makes up the lack of a good story.

Audio – 8/10 - Very good audio. The background music is very good and changes with each level and is actually very good. The various sound effects are also well done. Each gun has its own sound; dinosaurs each have their own sound, etc.

Replayability – 9/10 – You can play as a raptor or you can play as Grant through about 5 levels each. Being able to play as two different creatures on their own adventures is what makes this game a game you will want to play through a few times.

Overall – 9/10 - The only thing holding this game back is a lack of a story but is well made up through the incredible depth of the gameplay. Do yourself a favor and go out and bye this game now.
