"This Is The Best Damn Contra Game!"

Contra: Hard Corps is definitely the best Contra game to date. When my friend first introduced me to Contra I was astounded how fun and exciting it is to play. Just playing this game makes me grow chest hair and the only thing I can recall ever having that effect on me was either Conan or Contra 3.

GRAPHICS 10/10
One thing that amazes me from the start is the graphics. Contra Hard Corps right from the start engages you into a mind blowing array of graphics the backgrounds are well done and the enemies are equally good. Take for example Contra 3 Alien Wars and Contra Hard Corps. Hard Corps has better detail and Resolution.

SOUND 10/10
The Music in Contra Hard Corps is fast paced and ear catching. The sound and music is excellent all the way through. I really don’t know how else I can put it, it is just simply excellent.

STORY 8/10
Let’s just say this straight forward Contra was never known for its deep storylines, but that is a good thing. I really don’t want to say anything about it, only that it is the best one out of the whole Contra series. The excessive use of damn gets damn annoying but I don’t really want to get into that damn part of the game, all you need to know is that the story is damn good for a damn Contra game.

GAMEPLAY 10/10
This is what really makes Contra shine. The controls are responsive, put it this way if you die it’s your own fault and don’t go throwing your controller at the damn TV screen. Well now the part a lot of you are probably trying to find out, is this game fun? YES! This damn game is the most fun you will ever have with a damn genesis game period. I will warn you though this game is extremely hard, if you are not very good at platform games I recommend you buy the Japanese version of it. If you don’t like hard games then stay far away from Contra Hard Corps.

REPLAYABILITY 10/10
Some might disagree with me, but I can’t get enough of beating this game and going through it again, especially on the Japanese version because it’s much easier then its American counterpart, but even on the American version is sweet once you are able to master it.

OVERALL 10/10
This game is godly, but unfortunately tracking down this game might be a bit of a pain in the rear, but you can surely find it online. Contra Hard Corps is one of the best 16 bit games available, hell its one of the best games available altogether. I highly recommend this game to anyone looking for a fast paced and challenging shooter. What are you still doing here? Go kick some damn alien/robot butt.
