Coach K College Basketball was released by EA Sports for the Sega Genesis console and could be one of the most underrated and unknown games of all time. This game was and is just an amazing game for the Sega Genesis. Yes it does use the same style as NBA Live 96, but this is College Hoops at it’s finest. The game features 32 of the top teams in the Nation and also 8 historical teams. This is a great game for any college hoops fan or any sports fan in general. It is definitely worth dropping a few dollars to get this title from EA Sports.

Gameplay: 9
Coach K College Basketball is a great basketball game in general. It has so much to offer. 32 of the Top Teams in the nation and also 8 historical teams. The thing that sets this game apart from all other sports games is definitely the ability to call plays on the fly. You can set up your play book and then put it to use right in the game. The Multiplayer option is also very nice, and the game also offers a Season mode, and Tournament mode. One let down is in season or tournament mode when you do reach the tournament you can only have 32 teams in the tournament because there are only 32 teams in the game.

Story: 9
Start your team at the beginning of the season and try to march them all the way to March Madness and get into the tournament. If your lucky you can win the tournament and take home the National Championship.

Graphics: 8.5
The Graphics are the regular run of the mill graphics you see for most Genesis games. The thing that keeps this rating high is the fact that the graphics are done well enough that you can actually see what is going on at all times, and also have a good look at all the players. A very nice add on is when you perform a nice dunk it shows it in slow motion and if you do a hardcore dunk you can shatter the backboard.

Sound: 8
The music is nice at first, but it can get annoying hearing the same thing over and over in the setup screens. The in game sound effects are nice though and so is the crowd noise.

Replay: 10
With so many options you can play this game over and over. The season mode is awesome, you will find yourself caught in the moment as you try to reach #1 in the top 25 standings and also try to lead your team to the National Championship. If your not in the mood for the entire season mode you can do just the tournament and try to win the national championship. You can also take on a friend in the multiplayer mode which is another great feature.

OVERALL: 9
Coach K College Basketball is by far one of the best sports games released on the Sega Genesis. Today I am sure you could find it quite cheap at any provider of Genesis games. If you are a fan of NCAA Basketball or any sports games I recommend picking this title by EA Sports up.
