Spider-Man & Venom: Maximum Carnage
Review by GreatY2E
"Another classic Spider-Man game"
This truly is one of the best Spider-Man games made. Marvel never fails to impress especially with this one! In Maximum Carnage, not only can you choose Spider-Man, but you can also play as Venom! Now that’s something everyone has wanted to do for sometime…
The game basically is about Spider-Man and Venom teaming up to defeat the one that neither can defeat alone, Carnage. This definitely is a mean and sinister guy as he’s very annoying when it comes to fighting him in the game.
Advantages:
The fun you’ll have playing the game. It great for replaying because it’s hard to get tired of. What can I say? Running around bashing up the bad guys is a fun thing to do.
The graphics are good, more than enough of what you should expect from a Sega Genesis game.
There are a lot of guest appearances in this game, many that will even help you. There are icons in the game of game characters that you can use. When used, the character will then come out and attack all your enemies. Captain America, Black Cat, and many more! I one point of the game, you will even get to be in the Fantastic Four’s hideout!
How many levels are there? A lot! You can have tons of fun with this game with the over twenty levels in has.
Disadvantages:
If you don’t have a 6 button controller, it’ll be difficult to manage the buttons. You can swing your web with the X button, but have to do it differently with the 3 button controllers that are much more complicated.
One of the upsets about it is that it’s a one player game. It would have been really cool if two people were able to play, one controlling Spider-Man and the other Venom. But unfortunately, it’s only one player, so you’d have to choose which one you want to use at the end of certain levels.
You many be able to choose Venom, but not until the fifth or sixth level. If you prefer choosing Venom, you’d have to stick with Spidey for the first couple of stages until he actually becomes available.
This game may have a lot of levels, but you’ll only be able to beat it if you have a lot of time on your hands in one day. What am I trying to say? Well, you can’t save! You could get a good chance to beat the game if you have about 4 or 5 hours to sit around and give it a try.
Final Word:
It’s a must get game. It’s lots of fun to play again and again. If you’re a spider-man fan then this game should already be in your collection. If it’s not, then you can easily go out and buy it for about 5 to 10 bucks.
